Held my breath when opening this story on recent hospital depatment/service line closures, hoping to see few if (any mentions) of labor & delivery. What a disappointment. In a time when women's health matters of all kinds feel simultaneously under attack and also finally in the spotlight, it's disheartening to see this contraction continue -- forcing even more women to travel farther to access essential care and face the complicating factors that come with it. 📣 Talk to me smart people: Beyond #telemedicine (which is SO important), what are the most exciting new solutions and ideas addressing the fallout from L&D closures? Who's tackling maternity care deserts, the disproportionate impact on rural and low-income communities, and quality of care impacts? How do you see this trend playing out in 2025?

It's time to come out from under #anesthesia. If you serve in any role as a healthcare provider and don't grasp this, then it's time to reassess our priorities. How is it possible that the majority of women globally are dealing with symptoms of anemia, yet the healthcare industry hasn't become a patient of its own care? No #nurse is stronger than the symptoms of anemia. Every time a healthcare professional overlooks the opportunity to bring awareness to #anemia, women grow weaker due to the lack of knowledge that should be afforded to them. This is not a research project. We are not seeking funding. Anemia should be treated with awareness. Let's do what we can. Let's work together as a healthcare team. Then we can say, 'We got this, and we did something about it.
