Live from RAF Fairford (almost), B-52H PINT21 and PINT22 on take off this morning. Glad to see the pub theme call signs continuing! It was cold at the fence (particularly after the weekend of sun) but I felt it was my duty. As I have failed so far to see a mission launch (mostly as I have still been in bed!). Later they will conduct a flyover over Stockholm and Uppsala alongside the Swedish Air Force. The flight is part of a planned exercise and the route has been chosen to mark the one-year anniversary of Sweden's accession to NATO. The B-52 has been flying for 73 years, but last week it was the 64th anniversary of these B-52H variant’s first flight. Long may it continue, 100 years with the new Rolls Royce engines? Not the smoky ones in the video! Sorry for more B-52 spam. Normal service with more variety will resume when the Bomber Task Force ends (soon). PS Now time for a cup of tea and to warm up!
