Apropos of recent events in e2ee, here is a new academic paper, inspired by the late Ross Anderson (damn it Ross...), which finds that half of all cybercrime prosecutions in the UK are for police officers misusing access to police databases. Just in case you needed a reminder of who strong encryption protects us *from*. https://lnkd.in/e9tPjjGp
I would like to know what happens to all the #id and #face #scans taken for entry at #elektrowerkz #islington supposedly for the Metropolitan Police that make #entry to that late night former #gothic #watering and #clubbing #hole a massive #infringement of personal #data #privacy #rights as well as an overrated #pain in the #bum. (This is on top of a membership face pic, digital id graphic and fee for the #Slimelight night.) I could do without the pat downs, body and bag searches, sweety confiscations, meds screenings and generally #arsey #arsehole #baboon #staffed #security #company as well! Where are those sleeping lions of data rights and guardians of professionalism at Information Commissioner's Office-office and Security Industry Association (SIA) ⚔️ 🔑 🙈 🙉 🙊
Thanks Heather, an interesting read

3dWould love to know the proportion of unauthorised access attempts to databases
