When I received the invitation to Buckingham Palace from Mark French and Wayne Griffiths I imagined a grand event - one of those magnificent halls filled with hundreds of guests, with perhaps only a fleeting glimpse of Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal. However what I got to experience tonight was something entirely different. The event was incredibly intimate - fewer than 60 people - and to my surprise, The Princess Royal took the time to speak to each of us. No rushed handshakes, no quick pleasantries—just genuine conversation. It was a rare and special opportunity to meet someone who has dedicated so much of her life to service. The evening was to showcase the wonderful work carried out across the Country by the Sea Cadets. Unfortunately, photos inside the Palace are not allowed, so you’ll have to forgive me when I post again once the official photos are released! Until then here’s a couple outside. Huge thank you to Mark and Wayne and lovely to see Alison Lee and to meet Paul Collins Neil 'Jacko' Jackson MA Chartered FCIPD FCMI
Your names not down you’re not coming in there Grant…
Fantastic evening! Grant thanks for being my sidekick! Great guy
What an awesome experience
I would love to take credit for the event but in all honestly it was 100% down to Mark French. I think I am still in shock as I never ever thought I would in my lifetime to be able to do something like this! I’m not sure anything will ever trump this! And to share with people like yourself that I am in awe of makes it even more special
Sounds like a really good event Grant, great you got invited
Oh wow what an incredible experience 🥰♥️
You’ll be there for your Knighthood next time….
As we both said as we were leaving - all a bit surreal ! Great to see you there, let’s catch up again soon!
Wow, what an amazing thing to get to do!

6dGrant Sanders great to have you there and such a special event. I can not under estimate to an organsatiin how being involved in the Armed Forces Community makes such a life changing influence. If you work for or run an organisation that is not part of the Armed Forces Covenant. WHY? because give me just 2 minutes and i can tell you how much of a difference it can make. A truly once in a lifetime experience tonight and as you say Grant so sereal.
