🔗💻🔎 DOI: https://lnkd.in/dQkSqCbq 🧑📖 Identification of the effect of electric pulse discharges on the recycling of household glass 👨⚖️ 🏫 ©️ Ayanbergen Khassenov, Dana Karabekova, Madina Bolatbekova, Bekbolat Nussupbekov, Arystan Kudussov, Lyubov Chirkova, Perizat Kissabekova (Karaganda Buketov University, Kazakhstan) Keywords: #solid #waste, #electric #pulse #device, #electric #discharges, output of the finished #product Abstract The work was devoted to the study of the recycling of household glass waste by the electric pulse method. Cullet and glass containers were considered as the object of research. Cullet and used glass containers are considered suitable for recycling among solid household waste. The treatment of solid household waste was carried out with the formation of electrical discharges in an inhomogeneous environment (glass fragments and glass products in an aqueous environment). The experiments were carried out at different values of pulse discharge voltage (from 12 kV to 37 kV), capacitor bank capacity (from 0.4 to 1.2 µF), number of pulse discharges (from 250 to 1,000) and frequency (from 0.3 Hz to 2 Hz). The dependence of the output of the finished product on the parameters of electric pulse discharges has been revealed from the research results. According to the main results of the research work, it was found that as the parameters of electric pulse discharges increase, the yield of the finished product increases. The data made it possible to assign effective parameters for processing cullet and glass products using the electric pulse method. The granulometric composition of the powder material obtained by this method has been determined. A product with a diameter of the largest fraction of 5-8 mm and a diameter of a small fraction of 0.4 mm and 0.7 mm was obtained. The results of the experiment can be used in research on saving natural resources, energy conservation and solving environmental problems of solid waste recycling. Powdered glass is used as a thermal insulator and decorative material in construction. In addition, crushed glass is used in the production of concrete as an additional raw material.

The aim of this work is to valorize fired clay brick debris (grog, CH) by using egg and coconut shells in the production of eco-friendly compressed earth bricks for sustainable building materials. Samples were cured at ambient temperature (23 ± 3 °C) and obtained by altering different percentages of (CO) and (CN) at 13%, 26% and 40%, respectively; while another mix design of calcined eggshell and coconut shell were incorporated together into the grog powder. Results obtained indicates an improvement in the engineering properties due to the addition of eggshell waste and these improved properties are suitable to enhance sustainable eco-friendly building materials. Researchers from Pampanga’s Don Honorio Ventura State University found that spent coffee grounds (SCG) could become an ingredient for concrete blocks. They found that these concrete hollow blocks (CHB) “exceeded the minimum compressive strength of 4.14 MPs or 600 psi” in the Department of Public Works and Highways’ requirements. https://lnkd.in/gk8QtmJS

Bamboo is known as a fast-growing plant. It is also a robust and durable non-timber forest product we can grow in Indonesia. Endemic Belangke Bamboo (Gigantochloa pruriens) from North Sumatra has excellent mechanical qualities and potential to be used as a construction and furniture material. However, its susceptibility to deterioration organisms, such as termites and fungi, urges the need to modify its chemical properties. Hartono et al. briefly experimented with adding polystyrene, citric acid, and boric acid to Laminated Board (LB) from belangke bamboo. These chemicals were meant to make bamboo more resistant to pests like termites and fungi that can cause rot. All three treatments offered some protection, but polystyrene was the most effective at preventing weight loss, a key indicator of damage from pests and decay. Treating bamboo with polystyrene can significantly improve the durability and lifespan of LB with bamboo-based materials, making bamboo a more reliable and sustainable option for furniture, interior design, and construction.

Hello Everyone. 🌱 Harnessing the Power of Dual Red Peaks for Enhanced Plant Growth 🌱 Recent research has shown that combining 640 nm and 660 nm dual red peaks in lighting setups can significantly increase flower weight and improve light-use efficiency in plants. This breakthrough stems from the fact that these wavelengths closely match the absorption peaks of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b, two key molecules in photosynthesis. Why is this important? The dual red peaks enhance the plant’s ability to capture and utilize light, driving more efficient photosynthesis. It also helps in optimizing the production of dry biomass, leading to healthier, heavier flowers. For horticulturists, this means that utilizing light spectra with dual red peaks can improve crop yield, making it a powerful tool for industries like medical cannabis cultivation. Are you leveraging the right light spectrum for your plants? 🌞🌿 More Information Website: www.china-growlight.com #PlantGrow #Horticulture #LEDGrowLights #DualRedPeaks #Agritech #SustainableFarming #CannabisCultivation #Photosynthesis #LEDTechnology

Interesting #concrete idea. Spent coffee grounds, when treated properly, can improve concrete strength by 30% according to researchers from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. The key to the innovation lies in a process called #pyrolysis, which involves heating #coffee #waste to over 350 degrees Celsius in the absence of oxygen to produce #biochar. This carbon-rich material can integrate into the cement matrix, enhancing the strength of the concrete, effectively replacing a portion of the sand. Chinese scientists have turned bamboo into a transparent material that is resistant to fire and water and suppresses smoke. The team used the same method used to turn wood transparent to turn the bamboo transparent - bamboo's internal structure and chemical composition is very similar to wood. The resulting transparent bamboo can be used as a building material. When used as a substrate for perovskite solar cells, it acts like a light management layer, boosting cells' power conversion efficiency by 15.29%. #technology #innovation #china https://lnkd.in/g2iJJiTg
