GIZ Ukraine’s Post

Solar for decentralised energy supply – German Vice Chancellor in Ukraine. A school in Irpin, a city near Kyiv, is now using solar panels to secure its energy supply – Germans Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Actions Robert Habeck visited the school yesterday. We are working on many more good examples of the use of decentralised and green energy supporting Ukrainian citizens. On behalf of the German Government, GIZ Ukraine is also supporting critical infrastructure such as hospitals and kindergartens with solar panels and other energy supply. A hospital near to the front was recently equipped with solar panels and serves now 6000 patients – also in times of blackouts. Additionally, more than 4200 solar technicians, electricians, construction workers and other specialists have already been trained to assist Ukraine in the use and maintenance of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency. The focus is on "sustainable reconstruction", as Robert Kuenne Cluster Coordinator Energy and Climate Ukraine, reports. #GIZ
