Show affiliations Beschreibung In the dynamic landscape of higher education, digital technologies are crucial for fostering collaboration and knowledge dissemination. European universities are embracing this shift through “European Universities”, transnational alliances aimed at enhancing academic exchange and innovation. The Unite! alliance, as part of its Erasmus+ project, established the “Community Digital Campus” (Cm.2) to develop a modern digital campus framework. Based on an analysis to identify and document the technological, organizational, and legal needs for such a campus, using desk research, surveys, and stakeholder discussions, key requirements are formulated. Key requirements identified include ensuring interoperability among digital infrastructures, robust decision-making processes for IT, strategic support for existing systems, and addressing budgetary considerations for federated systems. I'm delighted to announce that my PhD student, Shuyi Pan, and I have had our paper, "Developing a Social Support Framework: Understanding the Reciprocity in Human-Chatbot Relationship," accepted at the CHI 2025 conference! This marks my first CHI paper, another milestone in my academic journey. In our research, we delved into the nuances of social support exchanges between humans and chatbots, specifically focusing on Replika. By analyzing a substantial dataset from Reddit, we uncovered 27 subcategories of support, categorized into five main types and two directions. Our work establishes a novel framework for understanding reciprocal support in human-chatbot interactions. The Text2Story Workshop is back for its 8th edition! The workshop will take place in Lucca, Italy, on April 10, 2025, co-located with ECIR'25 (the 47th European Conference on Information Retrieval). For this edition, we focus on the evolving role of Large Language Models (LLMs) in narrative understanding exploring the issues involved in using LLMs to unravel narrative structures, while also examining the characteristics of narratives generated by LLMs. By fostering discussions in these areas, the workshop aims to address critical challenges in narrative extraction and maintain its tradition of driving innovation in narrative research. 👨💻 Ivan Vykopal, a dedicated member of our DisAI team, has spent a month researching at the prestigious Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) in Germany 👍 💬 Ivan's journey began with the DisAI Replication Challenge, where he worked with Simon Ostermann at DFKI. This experience enriched his understanding of parameter-efficient fine-tuning of language models 🏆 Currently, as part of the DisAI Multilingual team, Ivan is working with Simon to improve the efficiency of fact-checkers using large language models.
