The event was an eye opening experience for me in particular as I completed just about a year of my association with the topic of anti counterfeiting and brand protection! More than 3 decades of my professional life has been into strengthening the communication pillar globally and India in particular where starting with early 90s from PBX/PABX systems to fixed communication networks and then deployment journey for wireless starting with 2G until 5G , taking the country from a tele density in single digits ( 2 phones per 100 people ) to 90s (90+ phones per 100 people). Unlike the tele density quantifiable and accurate metric , anticounterfeiting industry may not very accurate sizing but even the order of magnitude numbers are mind boggling . Some figures like global counterfeit trade currently is about usd 1 Trillion and slated to grow by 75% in next 6 years meaning a CAGR of more 12% , much more than the overall GDP growth !!!!! While the challenge is huge and challenges in controlling this even bigger, but this cannnot be left to decide or destiny and future what we want to leave for our future generations ! I personally and on behalf of Checko are 100% committed to contribute by bringing to the table our most innovative and disruptive anti counterfeiting technology Checko Fingerprints and future innovations which we will continue to develop at the best in class National Centre for Flexible Electronics at IIT Kanpur!
