We in Rakuten believe that AI should empower humans not replace them. This means we have to take AI to people not have people needing to come to AI, they are too busy and it will fail. We have seen this journey already in automation where people do not have time to do something new when they need to keep the lights (or base station) on now. Remember the famous cartoon of the medieval knight rushing off to war, passing the machine gun salesman... As with all humor, there is truth lying behind... We have approached AI in telecom by empowering our experts not by promising to replace them or expecting them to be data scientists overnight. All of us are dealing with a data scientist shortage that will not get easier, so we have focused on building a platform that scales and empowers those experts, allowing them to run at speed while minimizing risk. 1. Telecom experts are too busy (don’t want) to be data scientists. 2. Mobile operators want to control their AI destinies. 3. Pure AI data platforms are not the answer. To learn more about what is already in production today in Rakuten Mobile, Inc., reach out to Rakuten Symphony Anshul Bhatt and Rahul Atri who are at #DTW
Telecom experts who run networks will always be too busy. As the curtain lifts on #DTW24, Rakuten Symphony Chief Product Officer Anshul Bhatt sounds off on the importance of integrating AI into existing work processes versus forcing time-strapped network engineers to learn an entirely new way of operating the network. If you’re in Copenhagen this week, be sure to sync with Anshul to hear how Rakuten has integrated its experience learning, developing and fine-tuning AI adoption strategies into the Rakuten AI for Telecom platform. And why he is so hyper-focused on the human side of telecom AI. Exactly ! I like this statement and I believe on it since I started in telecom People will not go to automation and AI because they are busy but if AI comes to them it will succeed. At the end AI will not replace people but people will use more AI.

8moThis is absolutely the best way to think about AI now: it's an accelerator to help people work better. Without AGI, AI tools need humans to choose when and where to implement AI, to decide on what training data to use, how to manage inference, and to ensure that the results from AI models are correct.
