Turboprop planes offer an excellent option for charter flights on short routes, providing affordability and versatility. Their ability to operate in airports with limited infrastructure, like short or gravel runways, makes them particularly well-suited for industries such as mining, safari tours, and island hopping. These aircraft are also perfect for spontaneous weekend escapes, regional business travel, or reaching remote destinations efficiently. With seating for up to 8 passengers, turboprops deliver cost-effective travel without sacrificing convenience, presenting an ideal solution for those seeking efficient and budget-friendly transportation. - 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐍𝐨𝐰! https://lnkd.in/gEDH9T8y . . . . #turboproptravel #charterflights #shortroutes #affordabletravel #versatileflying #limitedinfrastructure #miningindustry #safaritours #islandhopping #weekendescapes #businesstravel #remotedestinations #costeffective #convenienttravel #budgetfriendly #efficienttransportation #8passengerseating #aviation #adventureawaits #flysmart

Aotearoa's rail potential is vast, yet we rely heavily on domestic flights, contributing to higher carbon emissions. In our latest blog, All Aboard contributor Rekha Joly dives into the history of NZ’s railways and explores how restoring long-distance passenger trains could transform how we travel—efficient, eco-friendly, and nostalgic. Aye aye Captain! Bring this over to the Pacific, pretty please! Transcontinental sailboat ferry, producing a mere 5-10 kg per passenger instead of 1000 kg of CO2e for the same journey by plane (a whopping 99-99.5% reduction!). This could be quite the game changer for those whom long distance travelling is a real challenge to cut down, such as so many of us kiwis - such as myself - with familial and other ties to the globe. For example: a return flight Auckland-Amsterdam would emit about 5.65 tCO2e, which is pretty much the same as the total emissions of an average kiwi for the entire year (i.e. 5.59 tCO2e; source: https://lnkd.in/gU4dPr2F).

✈️ Why Do Planes Fly Over Greenland? If you've ever noticed your transatlantic flight veering over Greenland or Iceland, you're not alone! While it might seem like a detour, there's a fascinating reason behind the design of these flight paths. The Great Circle Route: The Earth isn’t flat (sorry), and neither are flight paths! Airlines follow the "great circle" route, which is the shortest distance between two points on a sphere. Though it looks curved on a map, this route actually saves time and fuel, making flights more efficient. Efficiency Over Emergency: Contrary to popular belief, planes don’t hug landmasses like Greenland for emergency reasons. It’s all about reaching the destination faster while reducing fuel consumption. Fun Fact: Many flights between the U.S., Canada, and Europe pass near or over Greenland. For example, flights from Seattle to London or Paris to Mexico City follow these paths to optimize travel time. Momentum’s sales and operations teams work hand-in-hand with our trusted network of vetted operators, meticulously reviewing all possible flight paths to ensure each charter flight is optimized for safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction. So next time you glance out your porthole and glimpse Greenland’s stunning ice fields below, know that you're cruising along the smartest and most efficient path! #MomentumSolutions #AviationInsights #GreatCircleRoute #GreenlandFlyovers #TravelSmart #GainMomentum

ELECTRIC: PortMiami has become the first major cruise port on the US east coast with shore power at five separate berths. The milestone was recognised at a ceremony with dignitaries and representatives from cruise lines including Carnival Corporation, Royal Caribbean Group, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., MSC Cruises and Virgin Voyages. Some 21 cruise ships are expected to plug in at Miami over the coming year, according to Seatrade Cruise News. Connecting with shoreside electricity allows cruise ships to switch their engines off, reducing emissions by up to 98%. According to Seatrade, the annual emission reduction associated with the connection to shore power at one terminal is estimated equivalent to removing 7,500 cars from the road. Shore power is becoming increasingly important in the greening of the cruise industry. New York City's Brooklyn Cruise Terminal introduced shore power for its single cruise berth in 2017. Shore power was also included in the construction of the new Horizon Cruise Terminal at the port of Southampton in the UK, which opened in 2021. #cruise #shorepower #greenenergy #netzero #ports #maritime

To be sustainable, and take action to contribute to sustainability, is an everyday activity. As I am a frequent flyer, I always take into consideration the environmental foot print of my business travels. Today, I have chosen to fly directly with #Norse #flynorse from OSL-MIA. From OSL and to the rest of the world we unfortunately does not have so many direct flights. Most of the time travelers from OSL are forced to transit another european airport before reaching an overseas destination. This contributes to additional emissions generally. My chosen direct flight OSL-MIA, serviced with #Boeing #Dreamliner , are one of the most efficient airplanes, which set the benchmark in low emission pr seat kilometer availiable in the market. My travel choice today had sustainability as an important desition factor. Many small creeks, make a big stream. To be sustainable and contribute to sustainability is a behaviour. At #Evac we have such everyday behaviour as a thought leader in the marine industry, contributing to sustainability today and tomorrow. #Evac #nothingtowaste
