Mental health company Spring Health, cofounded by CEO April Koh and Adam Chekroud, is now valued at $3.3 billion after raising a $100 million Series E round. The round was led by growth-stage firm Generation Investment Management, with participation from some existing investors including Kinnevik, the William K. Warren Foundation, RRE, and Northzone. Spring Health was last valued at $2.5 billion during a 2023 Series D round. The AI-powered mental health startup matches patients with care providers, selling to both health plans and employers. What the company calls “personalized mental health” separates Spring from competitors in the digital mental health space, it says; its founding eight years ago was predicated on a research paper that found that machine learning could match people with the best care for their needs. “We’re really excited that this is another big growth round in a world where that seems kind of rare,” Koh says. Mental health should be spoken about every day, not just today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay 🧠 That’s why within The Virgin StartUp Community we're proud to partner with Self Space, offering our community access to affordable 1-1 mental maintenance sessions. Self Space are really on a mission to debunk the stigma and make mental health support more accessible, by featuring on the high street. At Virgin StartUp, we had the pleasure of hearing from founder Chance Marshall who shared his journey of building a startup dedicated to improving others' well-being. If you’re looking for a mental break today, tune into his story on our podcast—it’s 45 minutes well spent. (popping the link below). It was also great to chat to the team at #ANDYSMANCLUB this week to hear more about the incredible support they offer all across the UK. If you don't know much about what they do, ANDYSMANCLUB run peer-to-peer support groups for men over 18 going through storms in their lives, every Monday at 7pm excluding bank holidays. Groups are free to attend with no registration required. With over 200 locations nationwide, they're really on a mission to support as many men as possible 🙌 There are some incredible support networks out there; it’s just a matter of knowing where to look. Being a founder can feel pretty isolating sometimes, with the focus always on the business rather than on yourself. Hopefully, the resources mentioned above can help ease things a bit for some of my network this week. And, if you’re looking for a community that truly understands the ups and downs of founder life, you know where to find us ❤️.

Founders Village was 🔥 Angel Gambino from Angel Club dropped gems from the VC perspective: “Investors that take too much of your time can derail your vision. The key? Be responsive, not invasive.” Some takeaways that hit hard: 1. Master the art of being annoying (follow ups without overstepping) think productive persistence. 2. A simple “Can I circle back in a couple of weeks?” can work wonders. 3. Founder Mental Health: it’s a wild ride ups, downs, and a lot of solo moments. And it wasn’t just Angel. Leonardo Rocchetti from Plug and Play Tech Center brought even more energy to the table. The atmosphere at Founders Village #TechWeekend was all about inclusion, insights, and leveling up. Biggest takeaway? We need to have way more conversations about the real struggles founders face. #FoundersLife #VCInsights #MentalHealth
