[day12] “AI could increase global GDP over the next five years, although not as substantially as enthusiasts claim.” — Daron Acemoglu, Nobel Prize of exonomics - 2023 => While AI has the potential to boost global economic growth, the extent of its impact may be overestimated by some proponents. It is necessary to adopt a realistic perspective on AI’s capabilities, investing in AI technologies to enhance efficiency and services, but avoiding overreliance on AI as a sole growth driver #Advent calendar of AI quotes

Want to get an idea? How people are getting influenced by AI related stuff? and how this is impacting decision-making in different industries Just see the recent hype of Nobal prize announcement. Where everyone is talking about why nobel prize from Physics domain was awarded to AI person. Is it a clear signal that AI is no longer just a technological trend? and it’s becoming an integral part of decision-making, innovation, and progress across industries and it has started leading from the front. so, if you want to join this race of being in front, i would say start from y = ax+b and not directly from advancements.

✍️ The CEO of Anthropic, Dario Amodei, published a 15,000-word essay expressing complete optimism about artificial intelligence. He predicts the emergence of powerful AI by 2026, capable of solving complex problems better than humans and transforming medicine, the economy, and efforts to tackle global challenges. Amodei is confident that AI will bring prosperity and extend life, despite existing risks. His vision has sparked both admiration and criticism for being overly utopian and underestimating the current limitations of technology. Are you an optimist or a skeptic? https://lnkd.in/e76-9Bmq

Attending The Futurist Summit: The Age of AI I have the incredible opportunity to attend the Washington Post Live’s Futurist Summit on the evolution and future of artificial intelligence. It was a day filled with insightful discussions led by influential policymakers and technology pioneers. Reid Hoffman: Co-Founder of LinkedIn & Inflection AI, Partner at Greylock. He discussed the next steps in the AI revolution and was interviewed alongside his AI-generated digital twin by Josh Tyrangiel. Renee Wegrzyn & Regina Barzilay: They engaged in a conversation about AI’s potential to transform medicine, from diagnosing health conditions to personalizing treatments, and the challenges that come with it. Kai-Fu Lee: Chair of Sinovation Ventures and CEO of 01.AI. He described the latest advances from his AI start-up and his aspirations for China’s ChatGPT moment. Gen. Mark A. Milley (U.S. Army, Ret.): The former Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff spoke about how AI could change warfare, America’s competitiveness, and the ethical questions it raises. These are just a few highlights from the summit, which featured a range of influential policymakers and technology pioneers discussing the evolution and future of AI.
The next phase of the artificial intelligence revolution LinkedIn & Inflection AI Co-Founder, Reid Hoffman, Sinovation Ventures chair and 01.AI CEO, Kai-Fu Lee, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Maria Ressa and other technology policymakers and pioneers join Washington Post Live's Futurist Summit to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on the way we work, live and interact with the world around us.

Did Ray Kurzweil predict the future? Ray Kurzweil’s much-anticipated book, The Singularity Is Nearer, has recently hit the shelves, and I’ve had the chance to read it. This new work builds on the groundbreaking predictions from his earlier book, The Singularity Is Near (2005)—predictions that many were skeptical about. Yet, it seems we might be witnessing the unfolding of Kurzweil’s visionary insights. For example, the Turing Test, which Kurzweil predicted would be passed by 2026, was actually passed earlier this year in 2024 (not everyone agrees on this, but progress is obvious). Looking ahead, Kurzweil envisions a future where human capabilities are enhanced through a symbiosis with AI. He proposes that AI will not only perform tasks but will collaborate with us, addressing its own limitations while amplifying our abilities. This partnership holds the potential to expand human capabilities in ways previously thought impossible. Do you believe in Kurzweil’s vision? How soon do you think we’ll see this AI-human integration? #TheSingularityIsNearer #RayKurzweil #AI

The #AI Economic Impact Index from Capital Economics "Three broad conclusions can be drawn from all this. - First, our proprietary AI Economic Impact Index suggests that the US will lead the AI revolution, with the Asian Tigers, UK, Israel, and parts of the Nordics also well-placed to benefit. - Second, China will lead some aspects of the AI revolution but struggle in others. This is in part because AI is likely to become a new fault line in the fracturing of the global economy. - Third, the AI revolution will make EM income convergence harder as richer economies are better equipped to deploy the technology on a wide scale." https://lnkd.in/eF9bEbQ8

Recently came across this thought-provoking article on 'Living Intelligence' by Amy Webb of Harvard Business Review. Living Intelligence refers to AI systems that can adapt, learn, and evolve in real-time by integrating human intuition with advanced computational capabilities and advanced sensors.Unlike traditional AI, which often relies on static models, Living Intelligence continuously adapts to dynamic environments, enabling smarter decision-making and personalized solutions. It emphasizes collaboration between humans and machines, making it highly relevant for solving complex, real-world challenges across industries. It explores how this next big leap in AI can transform decision-making and innovation for individuals and businesses, whether they're just starting out or well-established. It made me realise the importance of not just sticking to the AI part of the development, but looking at the bigger picture of the coming technology storm. A highly recommended read! #machinelearning #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Livingintelligence
