"It takes a village to raise a child" - a well-known proverb that means that an entire community of people must provide for and interact positively with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment. I believe its the same for skills, learning and young people - and it worries me that this is being increasingly lost, leaving young people (and parents) stuck in a system that is inadequately preparing them for their future in a brave new world of emerging tech and disruption. Today, we launched hundoLAB first global report - 'Skills - The New Global Currency?' to ignite not only the conversation, but the practical ways in which we can, individually, collectively and collaboratively, respond to changing the status quo. I believe we need a global village, of employers, parents, educators, forward thinking policy makers, investors, philanthropists - who understand that we cannot keep having the same conversation about the skills shortages, the skill gap and the resulting crisis facing young people - and yet - the youth unemployment figures continue to rise. An extra thanks to the young people featured in the report - actual experts in their fields - for their contributions Kian Bakhtiari Abdulbasit S. I honestly couldn't agree more. As a technologist, mama, and person who left school at primary level and clawed her way into higher education through night schools and self-study, this rung true and deep. An absolutely fantastic achievement and mission, congratulations Esther O'Callaghan OBE 💫
