📣 Call-In Interview with LBC – Aquayemi-Claude G. Akinsanya's Statement Summary As a Social Justice Campaigner, Environmentalist, Philanthropist, Young Leader, and Nonprofit Sustainable Solopreneur, I’ll be addressing the potential changes to the Capital Gains Tax (CGT) regime under Labour’s upcoming Budget announcement on October 30th. https://lnkd.in/entvpwZh The proposal to equalize CGT rates with income tax raises important questions about equity and fairness in taxation. While equalization may ensure wealthier individuals contribute more fairly to public funds, it’s critical we don't stifle innovation or deter investment in startups and small businesses —particularly those led by underrepresented entrepreneurs. We need to carefully balance the impact on marginalized communities, ensuring that tax relief supports inclusive growth, job creation, and socially responsible investments. Let’s use this moment to rethink how tax policy can foster economic justice and environmental sustainability, while ensuring the UK remains a hub for innovation and tech ecosystems. Your input matters! Take the survey and make your voice heard on how these changes could impact investment, the tech sector, and our future. #TheStartupCoalitionTeam #StartupCoalitionTeam Startup Coalition #Entrepreneurs #Investors #Forbes #business #Budget2024 #Budget 🗣️ Tune in to LBC for my interview and share your thoughts. 🔗 Take the survey here: https://lnkd.in/ePBNT69K 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e2q29ic4 #SocialJustice #CapitalGainsTax #Entrepreneurship #EnvironmentalJustice #TaxReform #LBC #StartupSupport #InnovationEconomy #BBCNews

If you are seeking a ceo for your company, there some old timer candidates can add value to the company. For instance, we spotted an investment opening in an GLC and the investors are so happy to invest in the company. But the ceo does not read his whatsapp or contact to discuss further and just ignore the messages. The client is a fortune 500 company and the company needs the money is a local based GLC pn17 company. Where we have gone so wrong?

After reading an insightful article written by Victor Kwok of 團結香港基金 Our Hong Kong Foundation, I would like to share my perspective on the matter. It is evident that the socio-economic development of Hong Kong has played a significant role in shaping the attitudes of the youth towards entrepreneurship. As the city has evolved into a global financial hub, there has been a notable shift in focus towards high-paying professions and stable career paths, such as government jobs. This shift, combined with the rising cost of living, has deterred many young people from taking risks and pursuing entrepreneurial endeavours. However, I believe that it is not solely the responsibility of the youth to embrace a more risk-taking mindset. Hong Kong, as a whole, needs to come together and make collective efforts to seek new breakthroughs and foster a culture of innovation. This requires support from the HKSAR Government in terms of creating a conducive environment for start-ups, ensuring access to funding, and implementing policies that actively encourage entrepreneurship. Moreover, educational institutions should play a crucial role by incorporating entrepreneurship education and promoting a mindset that values #creativity, problem-solving, and risk-taking. As mentioned earlier, a recent survey on Hong Kong's youth revealed their pessimistic views of the future. It is imperative for all stakeholders to deeply analyse this trend and understand the root causes behind emerging attitudes like "lying flat." To achieve new breakthroughs, Hong Kong can also learn valuable lessons from successful entrepreneurial ecosystems around the world, such as Silicon Valley and Singapore. By studying and adopting best practices from these regions, Hong Kong can create an ecosystem that effectively nurtures and supports entrepreneurs. This includes providing them with the necessary resources, mentorship programmes, and ample networking opportunities. In conclusion, addressing the complacency and cautiousness that may hinder Hong Kong's entrepreneurial spirit is of utmost importance. It requires fostering a culture that embraces risk-taking, not just among the youth, but throughout society. Implementing supportive policies and creating a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem will position Hong Kong for new breakthroughs and drive innovation across various sectors. HK01

My latest HK01 #column on #risktaking culture. Have we become too complacent, or overly cautious? Why does HK youth appear less receptive towards entrepreneurship? In fact, it has everything to do with socio-economic development; but it is not youth alone that needs to become more risk-taking. How can Hong Kong seek new #breakthrough?
