Broadband Forum unveils new energy standards

Broadband Forum develops new energy standards Home broadband equipment has used 89% less energy than in 2015, relative to speed, the Broadband Forum reports as it begins work on new efficiency standards. The "Energy Power Saving Requirements, Test Plan and Data Model" project uses International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector recommendations as its basis for suggesting power-saving methods in equipment.
