2024 ← The year I thought would break me. On day 1, I sold my business that I was ☆OBSESSED☆ with because, well, I had no choice. The debts were adding up, and burnout took hold of me. I thought, "Well, at least I have a great relationship while I work through this." ← LOL. I was broken up with a few days later. There I was... In a new city (Denver) that I wanted to run away from, no money in my bank account, and no job. YIKES. So I coped by waking up every day, and not thinking about the bad. I buried it all deep. (It all came up in terrible dreams → don't worry, my therapist confirmed this is a totally normal way of dealing with trauma.) I called a friend in AZ who let me stay in her place while I got on my feet, will love her forever. And then boom, things started to turn around. I got hired at my dream job (Fathom) and instantly fell in love with my work. I moved into a house I love with a roommate I now call my best friend. I traveled overseas for the first time ever. Currently writing this from London. And now I was just able to hire a braidbabes employee, who I L♡VED working with, into Fathom. I am proud of how I was able to turn things around. I honestly was unsure for a minute there.
Thank you for sharing! Founder life is NO JOKE and break is a great work that I often think of in relation to the highs and lows that come with it. Honor how you navigated it, and excited to see where you can THRIVE in 2025! LFG!
Believe in yourself and trust the process - you will always figure it out.
You sound like an amazing person who is able to spin hardships into opportunities and that's such a rare soft skill to have 💫 While in Europe I suggest you to visit also my hometown Torino in Italy (and while you're at it, enjoy some bicerìn and gianduja chocolate for me too!) Wishing you the best! 💕
Great story, persistence was your key along with your attitude. A solid friend of mine always tells the kids we coached Your attitude will determine your altitude. This is never more true than in today's world.
About to start another call with the assistance of Fathom right now. Our CFO just started using it too. You made a great call. 👏
Love this so much! I always try to remember that things happen for a reason (not sure my therapist would consider this a normal coping mechanism haha). Hate that you had a tough year, but so happy it brought you to Fathom and selfishly happy we get to work together! Hope you’re having a great time in London! ❤️
Enjoy London beautiful girl, love to see you thrive.
So proud of you. It’s been a pleasure watching you grow - always remember, when one door closes, another opens and it’s usually so much better through that door. So excited to see how 2025 treats you - it’s looking pretty good! ❤️
