🚀Event Recap: InNOWvate 2024 - Driving #Sustainability in #SupplyChains 🌱 On May 22nd, carbmee had a chance to be a part of the InNOWvate event in the vibrant city of Amsterdam. As a focus on innovation and sustainability, the event brought together industry leaders, experts, and visionaries from the supply chain sector to share insights and strategies on driving sustainable practices. Alina Biermann from carbmee delivered an impactful keynote on carbon management for complex supply chains. Her presentation highlighted actionable strategies for manufacturing companies aiming to achieve decarbonization and the insights underscored the critical importance of integrating carbon management into every layer of the supply chain to drive meaningful environmental impact. Sustainability is transformational........... The word '#Sustainability' does not sound urgent enough right? Certainly does not sound ambitious or compelling or in any way inspiring enough to collectively tackle the challenges posed by the #climatecrisis. How about #Thriving? The idea of a thriving organisation, or in my world a thriving #innovation or #productportfolio developed and managed by thriving people is quite exciting, quite inspiring, imbues a sense of urgency and is certainly quite compelling as a concept. I spent the past four weeks listening to and being inspired by Prof. Wayne Visser and my course mates Konstantin Popovic, Jonathan Wilson, Renske F., Lynnette Ang and Dirk Pauwels as we became Thriving Facilitators. As a freshly minted Thriving Ambassador, i'm happy to recommend this course for anyone who is interested in making their organisation, their partners or indeed themselves thrive as we all collectively shift our focus and transform our businesses & societies to restore, renew, rewire, revitalize & respond with responsibility & resilience. The course is built on Prof. Wayne Visser's book 'Thriving' and allowed me to unpack the integrated value management opportunities that the sustainability transformation offers. I was able to put Thriving into action at  #Sopheon this week as we launched the first of our Thriving Innovation classes. In our first client session we looked at how to prepare innovation ecosystems for the thriving transformation - using the six principles of the thriving transformation. Is sustainability becoming the “new normal” for businesses? That was the title of the event organized by Quantis held on April 10th at the Swiss center. It’s positive that embedding sustainability into business strategies is becoming “normal”, however in Fedrigoni we believe that the journey has just started. Urgent actions are needed to improve impacts on environment and society, that’s why our motto is Making Progress by embracing transformation everyday. The event featured a cross-industry roundtable discussion where Micaela Di Trana , Lorenzo Centi of Bally, and Mirko Garbero of Venchi shared their insights on the challenges that businesses face in implementing different practices. These range from managing agile supply chains to complying with international demanding directives, to leveraging open innovation, and creating transparent reliable communication strategies to engage customers in the sustainability journey. There is no "normal" way of doing things when it comes to sustainability, because the purpose is not to do business as usual. #makingprogress
