Success is not about luck.   It's about resilience.   It's about consistency.  The harsh truth is: As a founder you struggle. As a leader you are under constant pressure. As an innovator you are made to believe that your ideas are crazy. Resilience builds strength through challenges.   Resilient people adapt and grow.   They learn from their struggles.  → Resilience creates opportunities.  Angela Duckworth's research shows grit matters.   Grit combines passion and perseverance.   It's a better predictor of success than talent or IQ! → Consistency beats perfection.  Small actions add up.   James Clear says improving by just 1% daily makes you 37 times better in a year.   J.K. Rowling and Jeff Bezos faced setbacks but stayed the course.  → Every struggle is a step forward.  Resilience theory shows that overcoming adversity leads to growth.   Steve Jobs turned his ousting from Apple into a chance to create Pixar.   He returned to lead Apple to greatness.  Neuroscience supports consistency by showing how repeated efforts rewire the brain, strengthening neural pathways for focus, motivation, and resilience. Success is not a straight line.   It’s a journey filled with ups and downs.  Resilience, consistency, and perseverance lead to success.   These traits shape who you are.   They define your path.  You have the power to create your future.   Stay strong.   Keep moving forward.  Follow Dr. Martha Boeckenfeld for more to Unlock Your Future. ♻️Repost if you feel someone needs to hear this and be encouraged.

In my experience in particular as a start-up founder after my over 20 years of corporate career, the journey is not linear. You need to be consistent, show up every day and be ready to fail and get up again. I hope this will encourage more people to do what they love despite all the challenges. I feel fortunate to focus on what matters to me: creating a more inclusive and accessible world for all of us. Education is a great way to get more people on board.

This is resonating heavily with me! I changed both my career and company last year after over 20 years where I had grown stagnant and apathetic. After I left, there were so many times where I thought man, I wish I had done this sooner because I’m really flourishing at my new company in my new role. But that wouldn’t have been possible without the exact sequence of events that occurred last year that led me to apply for my current role. It was last year that made it happen for me, so even as I reflect now and think I should have left sooner, this current version of my life wouldn’t have been possible any earlier or later. The 10 years jumps out at me, because after ten years at my last place, I started to think about what Theo Epstein said when he left the Red Sox after 10 years, that staying longer would have diminishing returns for both him and the organization. Despite that, I stayed, and I advanced…a little. But around 15 years, I started to stall out and at 20, I was just going through the motions. I was good at my job, I did it well, and I was comfortable where I was. But comfort is where careers go to die. It took 10 years for me to get to the year that has changed the trajectory of my career, and I’m thankful.

Dr. Martha Boeckenfeld Love this post! 💯 As someone in the security world, I see this resilience story play out with founders all the time. The struggle is SO real - especially when you're building something innovative while also trying to protect it! Security resilience isn't sexy, but it's exactly like that 1% daily improvement you mentioned. The startups that build small security habits from day one end up with incredible competitive advantages later. 🚀 Have you noticed how investors are now asking tougher security questions during funding rounds? The game has changed! Persistence in both innovation AND protection is the winning combo. Thanks for the reminder that consistent effort beats perfection every time! 💪

I find consistency to be to hardest part ever. Many people have motivational times where energy just comes easy. So putting in the work is easier. But when that motivation and energy got lost, only a few keep going. And to me thats what separates the "successful" ones from others. Dr. Martha Boeckenfeld And also: Dont show up just to show up. Show up to Win!

Thank you for sharing these valuable insights, Dr. Martha Boeckenfeld! Resilience and consistency are not just traits but strategic imperatives—success often hinges on the ability to endure setbacks while maintaining focused execution. However, resilience without adaptability can lead to stagnation, and consistency without reflection may reinforce ineffective patterns. True growth comes from the intersection of perseverance, strategic recalibration, and a willingness to evolve in response to changing circumstances.

Studying and most importantly living by Stoic principles and teachings have been a game changer for me. Stoicism is timeless. Resilience in the face of adversity is the essence of Stoic philosophy. Control what you can, accept what you can’t, and keep moving forward with purpose. Challenges aren’t obstacles. Yet they are opportunities to grow stronger. Appreciate the perspective!
