One of these fellas is an elite athlete that performs under the highest of pressure and entertains thousands of customers (Christopher Potter)... and the other is Peter Hatzoglou (right). Peter is one of the 15 athlete owners of the range of Superboost sports drinks. At 25yo he has already won a BBL final with the Perth Scorchers and is acutely aware that to get the most out of your body you need to put the best things in, but you don't want to compromise on taste. Popular products like Gatorade contain 36g of sugar (almost as much as a can of Coke) and have only 441mg of electrolytes which is based on an outdated understanding of what athletes need. Hatz is holding the Superboost Apple Guava flavour which has only 0.6g of sugar and 1,000mg of electrolytes. He relies on the benefits of Superboost for his career and long may it continue - look out for him this season playing for the Hobart Hurricanes. Thanks Hatz, you legend!

P E R S P E C T I V E This morning, I got into my car only to find someone had rummaged through my glove box and then hit the boot, nabbing my gym bag packed with boxing gear and a few other random items. Not much value for them, but pricey for me to replace. Some might call that pretty damn unlucky. Then, I got a random message from a friend: had anyone from PCYC lost a gym bag? Turns out my gear was scattered across the pavement near a panel shop in St Kilda. A community FB post shared the scene, and it was clearly my stuff. Not only did my friend let me know, but he actually went out, collected what was left, and dropped it off at the gym (I recovered most but not all of it). Some might call that pretty damn lucky. In each of these moments, I had a choice... to label it as luck, or lack thereof. I could have sunk into the once familiar ‘why me’ spiral, wailing to myself that 'this isn’t effing fair' or 'stuff like this always happens to me' and clung to the comfort of a well hosted pity party. But here’s the thing... whether we think we’re lucky or unlucky, we’re making that reality. Today, I’m grateful as f*ck, still buzzing with the idea of getting most of my gear back, and I’ve enjoyed another ah-f**king-mazing sunshiny day on my MT07 that is banging out the sweetest of tones from that new exhaust system another brilliant and generous mate helped to install for me. What’s lucky is the fact that I get to choose how I react to what life hurls my way. Over the years, I’ve learned to trust the pattern that everything I once thought was ‘unlucky’ eventually turned into something I was deeply grateful for. And honestly? I’m incredibly lucky I even have a car to get things flogged out of in the first place. Thanks Melbs for the EPIC riding weather... this pic is Dromana and it makes for a breathtaking Sunday ride!! #perspective

There are some common parlance sayings that sport amplifies into something a little more quirky. The one below has become quite Aussie Rules footy-specific, and springboards off the antipodean ritual of valuing understatement and guarding against the growth of "tall poppies" which inevitably, of course, are there to be cut down. It's also probably steeped in a little cautionary superstition: don't invite a jinx by overstating your chances when on a good run of form. In terms of Australianness it helps, too, that (billy) "lid" is a word that stretches back to corked hats and campfires; a virtual onomatopoeiac for having a "constellationary" cuppa under the lux of the Crux (Southern Cross). And most convenient of all, Four'N Twenty pies happen to have a lid. Makes my job of manufacturing a connection between sport and product that little bit easier, eh? Oi !!! Why do football players cut holes in their socks? 🧦 ✂️ ⚽ I had a great time watching the Vancouver Whitecaps FC over the weekend. The group I was with kept noticing that some players had holes in their socks. They all thought it was a fashion statement ⚽ 🔹 Reducing Calf Pressure: Soccer socks can be super tight, and over a 90-minute match, this can cause discomfort or even restrict blood flow. By cutting small holes, players can relieve some of that tension, allowing for better circulation and muscle comfort. 🔹 Preventing Cramps & Blisters: Tight socks can create excess friction and heat around the calf muscles, which can lead to cramping or blisters. A few well-placed holes help alleviate this by reducing pressure points and allowing for more airflow to keep the legs cool. 🔹 Modern Sock Technology & Fit: Many elite players wear grip socks (like Trusox) that help with foot stability and prevent slippage inside the boot. These socks are often layered under the standard team socks, and by cutting the latter, players make room for the grip socks to do their job effectively. 🔹 Maximizing Performance & Personal Preference: If the athlete feels better, he will most likely play better. Good luck to Vancouver on their playoff push! #Soccer #Football #AthletePerformance #SportsScience #ComfortInSport #physio #sportsphysio #sportsmedicine

5 Secrets of Golf (Only for Advanced players) 1. Get 9 out of 10 solid strikes on the ball with all your clubs(Normally achieved with a swing down from the vertical). And if you are not getting it - then reduce your back swing till you achieve it) 2. Direction must be correct within 5 Degrees left or right as per your measured average. If not - Thepn you must start aiming left or right accordingly 3. You are allowed a full back swing only if you are on the Tee with your Driver or 3 or 5 Wood. 4. Any chip less than 3 ft off the edge only use a patter or a 7 Iron 5. Putting: (a) Down Hill Putt-try 12 inches short (b) Up Hill Putts -/try 17 inches beyond the hole 6. Full follow-through till your club hits your back (for all clubs and all swings) 7. Never look at the ball after you have hit it (it is the Caddy's job to do that) 8. Never try to make up for a bad shot

Practical, effective, easy to use and backed by research (research using our device) to improve athletic performance. Just a few of the reasons multiple NHL teams purchased our device today. We get ignored by experts, authors and reporters but the truth is that AVA Cooling is the device being used by more teams and more athletes. Not fancy, not sexy, just simple and effective. It works because it was designed by me, a PT/Strength Coach who needed something to use with his own training, with his clients and with his kid's sports teams everyday. There is no need for an over-engineered, expensive palm cooling device. The job is to enhance recovery breaks, allowing you to push harder for longer. AVA gets the job done. Use BUY2 at checkout to get free shipping on 2 devices. www.avacooling.com #palmcooling #heatdumping #nhl #basketball #fatigue

Bad advice for golfers can often stem from myths, misunderstandings, or generic tips that don't apply to a player's specific skills or needs. Here are examples of bad advice for golfers: 1. "Keep your head perfectly still." Why it's bad: Golf requires a natural, flowing motion. Trying to keep your head completely still can create tension and restrict your swing, leading to poor results. 2. "Swing as hard as you can." Why it's bad: Power comes from technique, not brute force. Swinging too hard can ruin your balance, timing, and accuracy. 3. "Aim for the pin every time." Why it's bad: Aiming directly at the flag is often risky, especially on challenging holes. Smart golfers consider factors like hazards, wind, and green contours to play strategically. 4. "Use the same club for every shot." Why it's bad: Golf requires adaptability. Different situations call for different clubs and techniques. 5. "Fix everything at once." Why it's bad: Overloading your mind with too many swing changes can cause confusion and make it harder to improve. Focus on one adjustment at a time. 6. "Practice makes perfect." Why it's bad: Practicing poor techniques will only reinforce bad habits. Quality practice with the correct fundamentals is what leads to improvement. 7. "Always play aggressively." Why it's bad: Golf is as much about strategy as skill. Aggressive play can lead to unnecessary risks and higher scores. 8. "Keep your arms straight throughout the swing." Why it's bad: While some extension is good, forcing your arms to stay rigid limits your swing range and fluidity. 9. "Don’t worry about putting; focus on your long game." Why it's bad: Putting accounts for a significant portion of your score. Ignoring it can leave strokes on the table. 10. "Buy expensive clubs—they’ll fix your game." Why it's bad: Good equipment helps, but it’s no substitute for sound technique, practice, and proper club fitting. Always tailor advice to your skill level, physical abilities, and playing style. What works for one golfer may not work for another! #golf #golftips #golfaddicts #golflife #buckscounty #winter #golflessons
