When two of the world's top AI researchers give you the chance to join the mission in building AGI...you do it. In early January I joined ReflectionAI to lead the growth and operations teams. Reflection was founded by former DeepMind and OpenAI researchers to solve the last remaining problem before AGI by building superhuman coding agents. The talent density at Reflection is off the charts. Our research team is hard at work and seeing incredible progress. Thanks to Misha Laskin and Ioannis Alexandros Antonoglou for the opportunity to join this incredible team and mission. It's been a blur of a last month with a lot more to come soon...

I've been working with GenAI and following the developments towards AGI, and DeepSeek has truly impressed me. For the last decade I have thought that a team led by Demis Hassabis or Yann LeCun would unlock AGI, but the DeepSeek team has changed everything. DeepSeek's R1 models now rival all but OpenAI's o3. Their progress on Zero models, reminiscent of DeepMind's AlphaGo Zero approach, is remarkable. Their use of distillation techniques hints at the potential for even more potent models. The choice of the name DeepSeek over OpenSeek speaks volumes!
