#Balancing the Best of Both Worlds As educators, we've navigated the complexities of both in-person and online teaching. The challenge? Managing the distinct needs of both environments while balancing our own workload. But with Hybrid Learning Models, we can seamlessly integrate the two! Here are 3 powerful hybrid models to enhance teaching effectiveness: 💡 Blended Learning: Combine #face-to-face interactions with online activities. Use class time for hands-on learning and #discussions, while #assignments, #readings, and #quizzes are completed online. This allows for deeper engagement and flexibility. 💡Flipped Classroom: Deliver lessons through videos or reading materials before class. This frees up class time for #collaborative activities, discussions, and #problem-solving. Teachers can focus on individual needs and promote active learning. 💡Synchronous & Asynchronous: Engage students in real-time virtual sessions and balance them with #pre-recorded lectures or assignments. This helps accommodate different learning styles and paces, making learning more inclusive and personalized. By adopting these hybrid approaches, teachers can not only create dynamic learning environments but also optimize their workload! 💡✨ Let’s embrace the future of education by leveraging tech, creativity, and adaptability. Share your thoughts if you are already using any of these learning approaches. #teachertraining #training #successelearning #teachingmethods #upskill #draswathy #instructionalcoach

Reflecting on my journey from 2020 to now, I can see how much Edpuzzle has evolved and grown, transforming the way we integrate video-based learning into our classrooms. Here’s a quick look at the evolution: 🔹 2020: When I first became an Edpuzzle Coach, the focus was on introducing educators to the basics of interactive video lessons. We emphasized the importance of engaging students and assessing their understanding through embedded questions. 🔹 2021-2022: Edpuzzle started expanding its library of pre-made lessons and integrating with more LMS platforms. This period saw a significant boost in user-friendly features, making it easier for teachers to create and share content. 🔹 2023: Edpuzzle introduced advanced analytics and personalized learning paths. This allowed educators to track student progress more effectively and tailor instructions to individual needs. Collaborative features were also enhanced, enabling more teamwork and peer learning. 🔹 2024: This year, Edpuzzle is focusing on AI-driven insights and adaptive learning technologies. The platform now offers real-time feedback and automated content suggestions based on student performance, making the learning experience even more dynamic and personalized. Being an Edpuzzle Coach has given me the privilege to witness and contribute to these incredible advancements. Strategies for Managing Split-Grade Classrooms 🎓👩🏫 Teaching a split-grade classroom can be challenging, but with the right strategies, it’s possible to create a balanced learning environment. Here are a few tips to manage multiple grade levels: Differentiated Instruction: Tailor lessons to meet the needs of each grade, offering varied assignments based on students’ skill levels. Peer Learning: Encourage students to work together, with older students helping younger ones. This builds collaboration and reinforces understanding. Time Management: Alternate between independent work for one group while instructing the other, using the time effectively. Blended Learning: Use technology to personalize learning, allowing each grade level to work at their own pace using digital resources. Combine Lessons Where Possible: Find common themes between curriculums so both grades can learn together during specific lessons. What strategies have worked for you in split-grade classrooms? Let’s share and support each other! #SplitGradeClassrooms #TeachingTips #DifferentiatedInstruction #TeacherSupport

With the fall semester wrapping up and spring preparations underway, I find myself looking for inclusive practices to foster belonging and increase engagement in my courses. One consideration to increase classroom content relevance and student participation is the use of a "flipped classroom" By inverting traditional learning structures, we can empower students to: *Consume foundational content independently before class *Use precious in-class time for active problem-solving and deep discussions *Develop critical thinking skills through applied, hands-on learning experiences Counterarguments suggest this model would increase students' burdens, create inequities related to technology access, and doesn't acknowledge learning differences. LMS course analytics suggest that students are not reading the required materials before class and spend minimal time working on out-of-classroom assignments. What are your experiences using traditional flip or in-class flipped designs? High-impact practices like collaborative projects, real-world case studies, and interactive problem-solving sessions turn passive learning into dynamic knowledge construction. The magic happens when students become active participants rather than passive recipients. Educators: How are you reimagining classroom engagement? Share your innovative strategies below! 🚀📚 #EducationInnovation #FlippedClassroom #LearningTransformation"

I've always liked this lens—The 6 P’s of Blended Learning (Graham). If you're having an issue with a blended course design, this is a good audit mechanism. It also is healthy to keep in mind not to use tech for tech's sake. There must be a gap first in order to use tech as a bridge. Consider the following— ➡️ Place: Where are learners limited by geography and what tech can accommodate those limitations? ➡️ Pace: How can asynchronous elements optimize the speed of the course for all learners? ➡️ Participation: What tech can be leveraged to increase, guide, and equalize student involvement? ➡️ Personal Interaction: Are communications tools being used to inspire constructive and authentic interactions and empower feedback? ➡️ Personalization: Have multiple modes of representations been used to appeal to a spectrum of backgrounds and experience? ➡️ Preparation: What settings can be adjusted to ensure ease of experience? How can tech be used to ensure everyone has what they need to succeed? I hope you find this useful! Happy new year! The 6 P's come from: Graham, C. R., et. al (2019). One teaching approach I've found valuable in EdTech is the flipped classroom model, particularly when applied in a hybrid learning environment. This approach, which flips the traditional classroom structure, allows a highly engaging and personalized learning experience. Students access instructional videos, readings, and powerpionts at home, allowing them to learn the material at their own pace and revisit challenging concepts as needed. This work before hand sets the stage for enaging in-class sessions, where teachers can focus on interactive activities, collaborative projects, discussions, and the students get to re-vist things in class that may be confusing online and need further guidence. In a hybrid setting, the flipped approach can be effective. Asynchronous online learning modules can be used to deliver content and assessments, allowing for flexibility in student schedules. One specific strategy I found that i thought is a good tool is the use of virtual breakout rooms in online learning platforms. These 'rooms' allow students to break into smaller groups for discussions, problem-solving, and peer-to-peer learning. This encourages collaboration and allows for differentiated instruction, catering to diverse learning styles and needs. #EDLT3110_SU24_R2

🧠 Microlearning: The Future of Education in Small Doses 🎯 In today’s fast-paced world, attention spans are shrinking, and learners are craving short, impactful lessons they can absorb quickly. This is where microlearning comes in a revolutionary approach to education that delivers information in bite-sized, easily digestible chunks. 💡 What is Microlearning? Microlearning is about breaking down complex subjects into smaller, focused lessons that learners can engage with anytime, anywhere. Whether it's a 5-minute video, a quick quiz, or a mini interactive lesson, the goal is to deliver content that’s quick, efficient, and impactful. ✨ Why It Works: 1️⃣ Improves Retention: Short lessons help learners absorb and retain information better. 2️⃣ Increases Flexibility: Learners can access lessons on the go, making it perfect for busy schedules. 3️⃣ Boosts Engagement: Interactive, engaging content keeps learners motivated and interested. 🎯 Microlearning in Action: I’ve seen this method transform the learning experiences for both educators and students, making education more accessible and personalized. As a course designer, I love creating microlearning modules that allow learners to master complex concepts without feeling overwhelmed. 💬 Have you tried microlearning in your training or teaching? I’d love to hear your experiences and how it's helping you deliver better results!" "Tell me in the comments if you've adopted microlearning in your courses or training.
