🌟 Reflecting on last Thursday's meetup with Mews, we are truly inspired by the candid and powerful conversations shared on embedding an LGBTQ+ inclusivity into the core of a business. A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, Matthijs Welle, Magali Elhage, and Alexey Viljoen, as well as our moderator, Ingrid Tappin 🏳️🌈, for leading with such openness and authenticity. 🔑 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: 👥 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗲: Leaders like Matthijs demonstrate that storytelling and role modeling are essential. By sharing personal experiences, he reinforces that inclusivity starts from the top and that representation and openness matter. 📈 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗗𝗘𝗜 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: Diverse teams reflect the customer base and help create more adaptable products. When companies proactively prioritize diversity, it strengthens global reach and resilience. 💼 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸: Allowing employees to share their authentic selves increases productivity and performance. Only in a safe, accepting environment can individuals truly thrive. 📋 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: Mews embeds DEI through structured policies and measurable goals, from unconscious bias training to gender balance in leadership. They also recognize and reward the essential work of ERG leads, valuing their impact on culture. 🌍 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀: Inclusion isn’t just about policies—it’s about creating a space for ongoing learning, allyship, and a culture of care.
