Diverse Leaders in Tech reposted this
Last week, I had the honor of being a panel member at the Diverse Leaders in Tech gathering, hosted by Google, alongside inspiring leaders like Andreia Dos Santos (Google) Janneke Niessen (CapitalT) and Ingrid Tappin 🏳️🌈 (Diverse Leaders in Tech) to discuss a critical question: Is AI a driver for diversity in tech—or does it risk reinforcing bias? The conversation left me more convinced than ever: diversity is not just a moral imperative; it’s a strategic advantage. When the tech sector reflects the diversity of society, we create solutions that truly resonate with the needs of all. Key insights that resonated with me: 1️⃣ AI must mirror society: AI can only address real-world challenges when designed by diverse teams. Inclusivity ensures innovation that benefits everyone. 2️⃣ Upskilling is essential: Governments and organizations must invest in upskilling and reskilling initiatives, breaking barriers for underrepresented groups to step into the tech world. 3️⃣ Localized approaches matter: Smaller, culturally relevant AI models are critical to overcoming the biases often embedded in global datasets. As leaders, we have a responsibility to shape AI as a tool for equity, not exclusion. Together, through diverse representation and collaboration, we can unlock the true potential of tech to drive progress for everyone. #DiversityInTech #AI #Inclusion #Innovation Archipel Academy quofox Springest Edubookers De Leerrekening Class by Archipel Academy
