ECIIA | European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing's latest publication, The #AI #Act: #Road to #Compliance, offers essential guidance to ensure compliance and #manage #risks effectively. The #European #Union took a significant step towards the regulation of AI with the #Artificial #Intelligence #Act. Having entered into force in August 2024, this #legislation will gradually introduce a series of #requirements for #all #organisations that #deploy, or #plan to deploy, AI #systems within the European market. One of the primary goals of the AI Act is to #safeguard #fundamental #rights and #personal #data while simultaneously promoting #innovation and fostering #trust in AI #technologies. The #obligations and #requirements differ depending on the #risk #category and the role of the organisation in the AI #value #chain. 🔷 General obligations: ♦️AI #literacy: measures shall be taken to ensure a #sufficient #level of AI #literacy of those dealing with the operation and use of AI systems. ♦️AI #registry: companies must submit their high-risk AI systems to a central AI #repository. For ensuring compliancy, companies should build an AI registry, containing all AI systems they use or put on the market. ♦️AI #risk #assessment: All AI systems on the AI registry should be risk assessed according to the risk #classification method used in the AI Act. It should be noted that the classification method is prescribed within the AI act.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗰𝘁: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 The EU AI Act, finalized in 2024, goes beyond mere compliance—it’s reshaping the very landscape of AI innovation. While most discussions focus on the high-risk AI systems and their stringent requirements, there’s a lesser-known aspect: 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘐 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴-𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘴. Did you know that the Act mandates not just transparency and human oversight for AI systems, but also introduces specific guidelines for AI systems utilizing #𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨-𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 data, especially in industries like healthcare and finance? This could dramatically alter how companies manage data, forcing them to rethink their global data strategies. Moreover, the Act’s requirement for continuous risk assessments and the integration of ethical AI principles is pushing businesses to innovate responsibly or face hefty penalties. These hidden requirements are not just about ticking boxes—they're about building trust in AI systems worldwide. 🌍 European Commission publishes first AI Code of Practice draft! 📜 Yesterday, the European Commission published its first draft of the General-Purpose #ArtificialIntelligence Code of Practice. Its four working groups, two of which feature representatives from EthicAI, will now provide feedback on the Code. Key aspects include #transparency, enforcement of #copyright, systemic risk taxonomy, risk assessment methods, and mitigation measures for systemic risks. The first draft is based on contributions from a multistakeholder consultation organised by the EC's #AI Office. We believe establishing guidelines like this through #open processes will lead to better trust in and uses of AI. EthicAI builds #trust in AI solutions. We believe ethics-driven AI helps our clients minimise the risks and maximise the benefits of AI deployment. #TrustworthyAI #AINews #AIStrategy #AIForBusiness #ethicalAI #AIethics #genAI #responsibleAI #AIgovernance #AIlaw #AIpolicy (🔗 to article in comments)

The #EUAIAct officially went into force last week! Are you up to date? ⏳🇪🇺 The AI Act is the first comprehensive #regulation on AI anywhere. It’s currently reshaping the entire #AI landscape across #Europe and setting ethical global standards for various sorts of companies.🌍 The legislation distinguishes three #RiskCategories of AI: Unacceptable risk applications, high-risk applications and limited/minimal risk applications. The AI Act showcases frameworks for each type of category. Companies envisioning their future with the use of AI must be aware that the EU AI Act is pushing #Digitalinsurance to become a top priority. Especially if you fall in the high-risk application, the chance of having many legal obligations to comply to under the act is fairly high. This can all become overwhelming, especially for #SME ’s that don’t have the recourses to make sure they’re completely up to date with the legislative burden. This is where Anove can help you. Anove ensures your compliance of many legislations, including those from the EU AI Act, while saving costs and giving you a chance to boost your business. The #AIregister is no exception to this, as it is a requirement set by the EU AI Act. ➡️Do you want to know more about the AI Act, don't miss our next webinar presented by our CTO Jean-Hugues Migeon https://lnkd.in/ec6QqF5v
