RECYCLING OF MIXED PLASTIC For projects to expand into new markets, we provide sales and production partners, operational shareholders and strategic investors who, in addition to equity, also will bring available sales or production capacities and local contact networks. Mountains of plastic waste on land and in water are a major problem. Plastic waste is considered worthless. Our customer in this project is changing the way plastic waste is viewed. It is becoming a raw material and giving it value! Its expertise is the production of versatile recycling panels for the local reuse of mixed plastic waste. This is its contribution to reducing global plastic pollution and CO2 emissions. The plastic waste is no longer burned, stored in landfills or disposed of somewhere, but is converted into versatile panels that can be recycled again after an almost unlimited lifespan. This creates a closed loop: mixed plastic waste is reused. Its recycling panels consist of up to 100% recycled plastic waste. It mainly uses the following plastic waste that cannot be separated economically: packaging material (multilayer films), PE (polyethylene), PP (polypropylene), PS (polystyrene). He sources his materials from post-consumer and post-industrial cycles. We are looking for a strategic investor, preferably with production or distribution capacities. The German #NKWS has been adopted - a decisive step for sustainability and the circular economy! 🌍🎉 An important milestone has been reached with the adoption of the National Circular Economy Strategy (NKWS) by the Federal Cabinet. Congratulations and many thanks to everyone who contributed to this success! Now the decisive phase begins: the implementation of the strategy into concrete measures. We are delighted that credit trading has been included in the NKWS. This will provide the ideal basis for implementing the EU Packaging Regulation and will help not only the packaging industry (food!) but also other sectors to meet the requirements. The CRC Credit Trading System is characterised by high standards of transparency, quality and security, while at the same time minimising bureaucracy. We are convinced that this practical system will also be convincing at EU level. As the quality of recyclates is a key criterion, everyone needs to switch to the right packaging design early on to remain part of the circular economy for plastics. 📍 A way to go deeper: On 11 and 12 March, one of our Managing Directors, Dr Dirk Textor, will give a presentation in Brussels on how CRC Credit Trading works. Take advantage of this opportunity for a personal exchange! 🌍♻️ The public consultation on the draft National Circular Economy Strategy (NKWS) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) ended on July, 9th, 2024. We also submitted our comments on the draft NKWS and expressly welcome the Federal Government's mandate to review the introduction of a certificate trading system for post-consumer recyclates. Our certificate trading concept, which we have also submitted to the EU Commission, is characterised by the following features: 1. quality-orientated: Only high-quality recyclates are traded. 2. fraud- and forgery-proof: blockchain-based trading platform without double counting and with independent audits. 3. market-driven: Certificates are purchased on the market, not allocated. 4. no "bail out": High certificate prices ensure incentive to use recyclates. 5. strict communication requirements: Transparency prevents consumers from being misled. 6. without bureaucracy: utilisation of existing administrative structures and data We are convinced that this system is necessary in order to fulfil the requirements of the Packaging Ordinance. In addition, the CRC credit system will also have a positive impact on other products that will be subject to requirements for the use of recycled plastics in the future, such as vehicles and construction products! Manuel Häußler wants to turn the way we produce and even think about plastics upside down. In his vision of a #CircularEconomy, chemistry produces high-performance #plastics (comparable to what we're used to) but ➡️From waste and by-products instead of fossil fuels ➡️ using much less energy, thanks to natural processes like yeast and algae fermentation ➡️That can be completely recycled at the end of its life ➡️ restarting the cycle For his project, Manuel received the German Studienpreis 2022 by the Körber-Stiftung and funding by SPRIND - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen. An independent study by the technical University of Aachen (RWTH Aachen) and the University of Merseburg conducted on behalf of the German ministry of the environment (Umweltbundesamt) has found that thermochemical recycling of plastic offers a positive contribution to the circularity of plastics. One requirement is that the technology employed is technically mature and energetically optimized by integration of all product streams, including the process gases for their calorific value. If possible mechanical recycling is advantageous, however for mixed plastic streams thermochemical recycling is the best option according to the study: https://lnkd.in/ehXg5H4V

Germany has just published its national circular economy strategy. On page 102 there are statements about chemical recycling. Germany, in this strategy, favours the application of mass balancing with „fuel use exempt“ and admits that it has continuously been lobbying for this on EU level. It also states that chemical Recycling shall be limited to waste that can only be incinerated. This statement is bluntly naive and based on false assumptions, caused by extreme lobbying activity from BASF. BASF knows perfectly well -that CR is over 90% pyrolysis -that pyrolysis is not complementary to mechanical recycling but competes for the best suitable feedstock -that pyrolysis will not decrease plastic production but support exponential growth -that CR does not make the cake bigger, but will cannibalise mechanical recycling. -that mass balance with fuel exempt is simply consumer deception and therefore illegal -that behind the scenes on EU level BASF is already lobbying for a concept called „dual use fuels“, that is fuels counted as recyclate, but being still fuel that is excluded from the recycling definition -that the main outcome of pyrolysis is fuel -that pyrolysis is more energy intensive than virgin production, calculated without calculation tricks -that pyrolysis is not economically viable and will never run at scale. -that BASF is continuously and planfully deceiving politicians in order to achieve their objectives. -that WtE companies are not at all worried because they know perfectly well that BASF bookkeeping tricks will in real life not diminish plastic waste generation. This type of policy will further undermine consumer trust in politics and business operators. Thank you Olaf Scholz for another political failure. https://lnkd.in/d3zeTHMW
