𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱: 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗹𝗳𝗲. At the iconic Fairmont San Francisco, I noticed the distinguished Les Clefs d'Or keys on his lapel as I approached the concierge desk. When I asked about his journey, I discovered that Thomas Wolfe isn’t just any concierge—he’s the founder of Les Clefs d’Or USA, a prestigious association of elite hotel concierges in over 80 countries. This moment was especially meaningful to me as starting my two concierge companies was inspired by bringing the hotel concierge concept to new markets—commercial office buildings and the credit card industry. Wolfe pioneered the concierge profession in the United States in the 1970s, bringing European tradition together with an American “can-do” spirit. At the time, Americans were unfamiliar with the concept of a concierge, but Wolfe’s visionary leadership and dedication to service excellence laid the foundation for what is now an industry standard in upscale hospitality. Today, he is celebrated not just as a concierge but as a trailblazer who transformed the guest experience across the nation. As I reflected on my conversation with Wolfe, I was reminded of the profound role founders play in paving the way for those who follow. Principles of a Successful Presidential Transition A presidential transition is a valuable—and vulnerable—time for an institution. It is a moment of opportunity that can be effectively utilized or squandered. How can you harness the energy of a transition to capitalize on the opportunity? There are four principles that will enable your college to move forward strategically.  (https://lnkd.in/e75AE_vF)   ●     Celebrate together. In order to move forward well, you need to spend appropriate time marking the important moments of the last presidency. Allow a wide variety of ways to celebrate, including publications, public events, and social media. ●     Communicate Often. Transparency is essential for a successful presidential transition. The search process should be thoroughly explained and readily available. Create a specific page on your college website that students, staff, alumni, and other stakeholders can refer to when they have questions about timelines, process, and progress. ●     Engage Your Mission. An institution is bigger than any one leader. Anchor your community in the principals that have been through lines across the history of your college. Throughout the transition, intentionally connect to the mission and values that drive your organization. This will enable your community to be nourished by the past as they step into the future.

2024 Raintree Retreat Head Office Award Recipient: Jay Bhutani Congratulations, Jay, on receiving the Head Office Award at this year's #RaintreeRetreat! This years Head Office Award was really a difficult choice, because so many of our team members did an amazing job! This team member has had a shorter tenure with the firm, but has had a tremendous impact on our organization. Not only within Raintree Wealth Management Inc., but overall as a leaders, helping to form the strategic direction for the firm. He’s not only helped to turn the business unit around, but he also rolled up his sleeves to do it. Having spent the majority of his career in large organizations, he was more accustomed to having larger teams to complete tasks. The trade off, has been his ability to make decisions and execute immediately – and I think he’s done an incredible job in embracing that and executing. This has manifested itself in growing this part of our business by 80%. It repositioned the entire team. He worked very closely with Hannah Chorneyko on the rebranding, and more than anything, he has created a culture that is focused on the Advisor and Client first. He’s prepared to drop everything else to get that part right. I landed my dream job with Marriott International at 23. A coveted position near the city I love, Washington, D.C. I was done with college, newly married, and the whole wide world ahead of me, everything seemed perfect. We started planning our cross-country move, but life had other plans. We had a big surprise; we were expecting the greatest gift our little family had received, I was pregnant. The news changed everything. We weighed the odds and finances and decided to stay put in Utah, putting that dream job on hold so I could get through the pregnancy. It turned out to be the right decision. My employer at the time was supportive, allowing the flexibility to work half days in the office and from home once the baby arrived during his first year. Fast forward (it was fast) my son is flying the nest in the coming weeks. My heart beams with pride and nostalgia. He has been the most cherished gift that changed plans and redefined my timing. If possible to talk with my driven 23-year-old self, I’d put my arms around her and offer this: 🤟🏼 Life is full of different seasons. All opportunities lead to growth. 🤟🏼 You are exactly where you need to be. 🤟🏼 Success isn't just about career milestones.
