The Power of Data-Led Fundraising: Lessons from Omaze and British Heart Foundation In today’s charity sector, data is not just a tool—it’s a game changer. One standout example is Omaze’s innovative approach to fundraising, blending compelling prize draws with a commitment to making a tangible impact. Their recent partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF), which raised millions to support vital research, highlights just how effective a data-driven strategy can be. What sets Omaze apart? Precision. By using data to personalise donor experiences, optimise outreach, and track every aspect of a campaign’s success, Omaze creates trust and transparency. It’s this meticulous attention to detail that not only raises funds but builds lasting relationships between donors and charities. It is very impressive! For organisations like the BHF, partnerships with data-led platforms like Omaze offer an opportunity to expand their reach and drive engagement with new audiences. It’s a brilliant reminder that when data and creativity combine, the results can be transformative. For UK charities looking to raise their voice and their impact, Omaze’s success is a call to action: embrace data, build trust, and think big. Small charities represent some of our sector's most diverse and inclusive organisations, yet the digital divide hits them hardest! This year’s Charity Digital Skills Report has revealed some thought-provoking insights about the sector’s digital divide and the challenges/opportunities of prioritising digital inclusion. The data reveals that small charities struggle with digital most, as they have least resources and capacity. This is despite being the organisations with the greatest diversity in their leadership teams (people with lived experience or from marginalised groups). Dive into the report now for a full picture of the trends influencing the charity sector’s approach to closing the digital divide and using tech to empower the communities where they operate. https://lnkd.in/eCxFY3HR #CharityDigitalSkillsReport #Funding #TechForGood #DigitalDivide #DataInsights

🌟 Exciting News for Charities! 🌟 Did you know that achieving full cost recovery is a crucial aspect of sustainable grant funding for charities? In my experience working with nonprofits, I've seen firsthand the challenges organisations face in covering all their operational expenses while delivering impactful programmes. That's why I'm thrilled to share insights on the importance of full cost recovery in grant funding. Full cost recovery allows charities to cover not only direct project expenses but also indirect costs like administrative overhead, staff training, and technology infrastructure. By incorporating these costs into grant proposals, charities can ensure they have the necessary resources to operate efficiently and effectively. Moreover, embracing full cost recovery fosters transparency and accountability in the nonprofit sector, as organisations can clearly articulate their funding needs and the impact they aim to achieve. This approach ultimately leads to stronger partnerships with funders and more sustainable outcomes for the communities that you serve. I encourage nonprofit leaders, and grantmakers, to prioritise full cost recovery in funding discussions. Together, let's empower charities to thrive and make a lasting difference in the world! #NonprofitSuccess #GrantFunding #FullCostRecovery #ImpactfulCharities

The UK charity sector is grappling with a significant decline in public trust. Over the past decade, the nation’s ranking in charitable donations has fallen from sixth to 22nd out of 140 countries. This erosion of trust stems from various factors, including 👉🏻 dissatisfaction with traditional fundraising methods, 👉🏻 concerns over “white-saviourism” in international aid, and 👉🏻 perceptions of charities becoming more corporate and less mission-driven. High-profile scandals, such as those involving Oxfam and Save the Children, have further damaged public confidence. To rebuild trust, charities must prioritise transparency and accountability. Openly sharing financial information and demonstrating the impact of donations can reassure supporters. Engaging with communities to understand their needs ensures that initiatives align with donor expectations. Embracing digital platforms can also enhance communication and showcase success stories effectively. Despite these challenges, the sector has shown resilience. By focusing on core values and adapting to changing societal expectations, charities can restore public faith. With dedication and integrity, the UK charity sector can emerge stronger, continuing its vital work in society. #CharityTrust #PublicConfidence #FundraisingReform #CommunityEngagement #TransparencyInCharity #NonprofitResilience #SocialImpact #AccountabilityMatters #DigitalPhilanthropy #MissionDriven

Are you investing enough time and dollars to maximise donor retention? Most charities aren’t. DR’s Marcus Blease recently shared our exclusive Australian research that shows many charities invest heavily in acquisition, but the same cannot be said for stewarding new donors! We analysed the donor journeys delivered by 50 Australian charities to new donors over the first 90 days. Some results might surprise you. The research was clear – we have so much opportunity to improve the way we welcome, engage and retain our new donors. Over the next few days, we will share 4 key insights and takeaways from the research. We hope you take these, reflect on your own program and see if you can or need to take steps to optimise your activities. 🔎 Insight #1: Making a donation offline needs to be easier and a more rewarding experience And with cheques disappearing – this is a critical initiative. Watch Marcus’s webinar to learn what you should (and shouldn’t) be doing to welcome and retain your donors: https://lnkd.in/gpydQhRb
