Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem reposted this
The heatwave currently affecting Europe is captured in this mosaic image from the Copernicus Sentinel-3 mission’s Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer, taken on 29 June. This mosaic reveals land surface temperatures — the actual thermal energy emitted from the Earth’s surface — which are typically higher than air temperatures. It's not only the land that's experiencing intense heat; the sea surface of the Mediterranean is also unusually warm, as shown in the image using data from the Copernicus Marine Service. https://lnkd.in/dxfRhXfD

Insightful.
Reading this sitting on a plane heading to Croatia for a much-needed break. Feeling grateful we didn't opt for our original idea of a road trip through Spain from Seville: seriously scary figures. More train-based holidays beckon, I think.
Sorprende que la de calor en el Mediterráneo Norte se instale sólo en España
The same color choice can be applied at any temp. Say director, do you drive luxury or compact?
