The #SignsofSuccess report shows that concepts like luxury, quality and affluence are human constants, but our analysis shows these signs shift. What we might call traditional concepts of affluence centered on precision and perfection, heritage and hierarchy, individualism and stability – are being disrupted by a more future-facing vision. Just 20% of people in the #UK enjoy owning expensive items and participating in behaviors that display their wealth. This preference for discretion is replicated in behaviours online – we see that visits to luxury websites are also limited.
