Sumy region needs help. In the past months, local villages and towns in the northeastern part of Ukraine have been subject to massive attacks from Russian territory and some places do not look inhabitable anymore. Starenki has supported lonely older people in the Sumy region for more than a year and now we deliver emergency aid there because our recipients were evacuated from their homes with little bags of the most necessary things and documents to neighboring safer settlements. According to the UN, almost 600 humanitarian organizations work in Ukraine now. However, even with this tremendous number of help, some people in need don’t happen to receive aid. Among them are older people. Two years ago we wouldn’t believe that a charitable organization like us could provide humanitarian relief to hundreds of people. But time and circumstances request our full attention and resources. Most importantly, we are capable of helping. Owing to our local partners, donors, team, and well-built internal processes of prompt response to crisis. The UAE and Egypt have launched Operation Birds of Khair, the 15th air drop of humanitarian and relief aid on the northern Gaza Strip. The operation, part of Operation Gallant Knight/3, aims to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The drops were carried out via two planes carrying 33 tons of food and relief aid, bringing the total aid dropped since the launch of Operation "Birds of Goodness" to 574 tons. Stand Up for Humanity, Justice and Peace This conflict in Gaza is claiming the lives of thousands of innocent civilians—men, women, and children. The escalating violence and devastation demand positive action from our government and we must advocate for the protection of innocent lives on all sides and hold those responsible to account on a global stage. Libya While our humanitarian aid efforts have primarily focused on Pakistan due to our established infrastructure, the plight of those in Libya has deeply touched our generous donors. With hundreds of thousands still homeless and struggling to access even basic necessities, such as food and water, we've directed our support through Muslim Hands. The people of Gaza have endured decades of violence and insecurity since the Arab-Israeli War in 1948. The situation worsened on October 7, 2023, when the Islamic militant group Hamas attacked Israel, sparking a war that resulted in devastating conditions for Gaza. Shockingly, 1 in 25 people have been injured or killed, with the looming threat of mass famine and the rapid spread of disease in overcrowded shelters adding to the humanitarian crisis. Fortunately, organizations are mobilizing to assist civilians in Gaza and are already planning strategies to rebuild what has been lost. Yesterday, we launched our appeal for Sudan because of the ever worsening humanitarian situation since the war erupted on April 15th of last year and because behind every statistic lies a profound human story. Out of a population of 45 million, a staggering 25 million are grappling with the brutal repercussions of war. These aren't just numbers on a page; they represent individuals whose lives have been shattered, whose dreams have been dashed, and whose very livelihoods hang in the balance. Within this staggering figure, 8 million have been forcefully uprooted from their homes. These aren't just abstract figures; they're real people who have been torn from their communities, stripped of their sense of belonging, and left to navigate an uncertain future without the safety and security of their homes. Imagine waking up tomorrow to find your city ravaged by conflict, your home taken over or bombed, and your once-thriving community reduced to a ghost town. Today Sudanese people are also facing an imminent hunger crisis with a child dying every two hours in Zamzam camp because of malnutrition. In light of the harrowing toll of this conflict, the UN made a plea to donor governments for $3.5 billion to address the urgent needs of these 25 million individuals and help them rebuild their lives. However, the reality is stark: only $131 million has been received, a mere 10% of what's desperately needed. To put this into perspective, if we were to distribute this amount directly to those 25 million impacted, it would equate to just $5.24 per person—a fraction of what's needed to begin the journey towards restoring their lives. Now, consider what $5.24 could mean to someone who has lost everything to the ravages of war. This sum, while well-intentioned, falls drastically short in addressing the immense challenges faced by those affected. It's not just about the monetary value; it's about restoring hope, dignity, and the chance to rebuild shattered lives. In the 24th of February the Russian Federation launched a military attack on our country, Ukraine.  In many Ukrainian cities and towns war forces refugees to seek safe places in other regions and countries. Women, children, the elderly are forced to evacuate to avoid being killed. They are forced to become refugees and suffer in terrible conditions from uncertainty and shortages. In order to help refugees to overcome such extreme difficulties, oficially registered by state, Charity Foundation "Democratic Society" from Kyiv, Ukraine, registered charity number 2126584600132 from 17.06.2021 is trying to do everything to get funds to ensure the survival of refugees, evacuated families, people, who found themselves in a hard situation during the war in Ukraine.
