The City of Edinburgh Council’s Post

Our Planning Convener Cllr James Dalgleish on City Plan 2030, agreed by councillors last week. It will increase affordable housing, make better use of land and support our climate goals 👉 https://lnkd.in/e37QQMy5

With three emergencies to juggle we need to ensure while delivering much needed homes we do not short change on good quality design, restoring nature or integrating climate change resilience. This means paying more regard to protecting and retaining trees as well as planting more of the right tree in the right place. It is an utter joy to be involved in this process. <3

Affordable housing The City of Edinburgh Council interesting phrase. What does that mean in practice. There’s no way on this earth that I would even buy a new house in this world where house builders competence is shocking. Affordable housing doesn’t work in real life, if I was spending £300k plus on a new house and then I have to live next to the couple who doesn’t give a to55 about their home/curb appeal. No thanks.
