Pleased 👇 Right now the creative industries play a larger role than most realise in the path to the growth that the UK is capable of Then creator economy (which we are focussing on all week next week at OTTRED) will have a large part to do with this The spectrum of things that now constitute “creative” is larger and wider than ever, but with the security that the government not only recognise, but also support it, there is also hope this will have a knock on effect for the streaming industry and content creation https://lnkd.in/dhWerf98
Chris Redmond ©️®️ , this is welcome and much needed news, after a very long period where it appeared UK got simply had no interest in our significant creative industries.
I agree, with you and Carrie Wootten, Chris Redmond ©️®️ , this is a multi billion pound economy in the UK, but the full spectrum of creative work, technology and distribution that it entails doesn’t seem to be recognised. It would be good to get it all into the picture.

3moTotally agree Chris Redmond ©️®️ - and I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. Streaming / engineering / technology aren’t recognised as part of the ‘creative economy’ and it’s something I’m working hard on to change. After all - none of the content that is created can be distributed without the technology that underpins it all. We need to support skills, education & diversity within the technology arm of the creative economy too.
