The CHANGE Lab has a history of championing against weight stigma. Our past publications and projects highlight the dangerous effects of weight stigma against adolescents. Like much of our current work, our work on weight stigma hopes to close the gaps in research, using a strengths-based approach to spotlight the assets of these communities. This week, the CHANGE Lab is highlighting Weight Stigma Awareness Week (9/23-9/27). This is an initiative that empowers and advocates for individuals to embrace their differences despite societal stereotypes. The time is now to end weight stigma and support humans of all sizes. Weight Stigma Awareness Week has several educational and advocacy resources that they have shared, we recommend you visit their website to learn more about how to get involved: https://lnkd.in/g_HHQj9B #WeightStigmaAwarenessWeek #WSAW24 #WSAW

Every year on June 7th, we come together to celebrate Tourette Syndrome, a neurological condition that affects millions worldwide. It's a day of education, advocacy, and most importantly, understanding. Living with Tourette's isn't just about the visible tics you may see. It's about the resilience, strength, and courage of every individual navigating a world that often misunderstands their condition. It's about breaking stereotypes and fostering inclusivity. But our work doesn't end with awareness. It's about creating a world that embraces differences, that champions diversity, and that offers support and acceptance to every person, regardless of their neurology. 💪🌟 #TourettesAwarenessDay #BreakTheStigma #SupportDiversity

Please take a minute to watch this video that’s been made by the fab Tourettes Action. It very succinctly shows the hidden impact of Tourette’s. Please remember to ask questions and talk about Tourette’s rather than ignore someone who is ‘making weird noises’ or ‘making weird movements’. Questions help reduce ignorance.
Today marks the start of Tourette's Awareness Month 2024, and this year's campaign #TourettesHurts with Tourettes Action is focused on challenging misconceptions and to bring understanding to those with the condition. Let's work together to educate, empower, and eradicate stigma surrounding Tourette's. #TouretteSyndrome #TourettesAwarenessMonth #Tourettes #Neurodiversity
