Between 2021 and 2022, CESI developed a short-term grid development plan for Zambia to assess the feasibility of integrating 440MW of renewable energy into the national grid by 2030. This study played a crucial role in ensuring that the transition to clean energy could happen in a safe, reliable, and economically viable way, aligning with the country’s sustainability goals and the growing electricity demand. The project explored key aspects such as the benefits of regional cooperation, the transition away from coal, and the role of hydropower in guaranteeing grid stability. With this initiative, CESI reinforces its commitment to supporting a more sustainable, resilient, and efficient power system, contributing to Zambia’s journey towards a greener future. #renewableenergy #grid #sustainability #CESI #energytransition
