Pure speculation: •Now that the 2,000hp mark has been cracked by multiple cars, there really isn't anything to be gained beyond bragging rights by playing in that arena. Whatever the next 1 brings, it won't be pure power, but something else. There's no point trying to be straight line faster than the McMurtry or have more output than the Gemera. •It won't be a pure EV. I think the customers for this are going to want an ICE car, although it'll certainly be a hybrid. You'd expect a lot of F1 KERS technology to make it's way in. McLaren customers track their cars more than any other super/hyper/ultracar brand, they're going to insist on being able to get at least 45 minutes flat out, which I can't see any pure EV being able to do.
