As we honor Black History Month and reflect on this year’s theme, African Americans and Labor, I’m reminded of the sacrifices and struggles that have shaped our stories in the workforce—and how much work remains to be done. In my book, Triumph in the Trenches, I share deeply personal truths about the struggles my mother and grandmother faced in their workplaces. The weight of racism not only affected their quality of life but also left lasting scars that shaped our family’s journey for generations. But this book is not just about the pain—it’s about the power to rise above it. It’s about the tools we can use to navigate workplaces that are still fraught with inequities. It’s about the movement we are building together to demand better and create a future where we don’t just survive—we thrive. Whether you are a Black woman, a woman of color, or a professional who is serious about fostering a truly inclusive workforce, this book is a call to action. It’s about care: for yourself, your colleagues, and the systems we must hold accountable. This Black History Month, let’s not only honor the labor of those who came before us but also equip ourselves with the knowledge and strategies to create a better future. 📖 Read Triumph in the Trenches today and join the movement for change. Together, we can transform workplaces into spaces where everyone belongs Order here: TriumphwithSacheen.com #BlackHistoryMonth #TRIUMPH #TriumphInTheTrenches #AfricanAmericansAndLabor #DiversityEquityAndInclusion #EquityInTheWorkplace

Celebrating Black History Month: The Power of Allyship As we honour Black History Month, it's important to recognize the invaluable contributions of Black individuals and communities. While it's essential to amplify Black voices, the role of allies is equally crucial. By educating ourselves, challenging stereotypes, and creating inclusive spaces, we can support our Black colleagues and foster a more equitable workplace. This Black History Month, I'm committed to learning more about the experiences and perspectives of Black colleagues. I'm currently reading "Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race" by Reni Eddo-Lodge, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of race and racism. What are your experiences with allyship? Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day of profound significance in American history. On this day in 1865, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is not just a celebration of freedom, but also a recognition of the resilience, culture, and immense contributions of Black Americans to our society. From the arts and sciences to business and technology, Black Americans have played a pivotal role in shaping our nation. Their innovations, leadership, and perseverance continue to inspire and drive progress. Today, we honor pioneers like Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., and contemporary leaders who are breaking barriers and creating lasting change. As we commemorate this day, let us also reaffirm our commitment to equity and justice. Let's continue to educate ourselves, advocate for inclusivity, and support the endeavors of Black communities. Join me in celebrating Juneteenth and recognizing the invaluable contributions of Black Americans. Together, we can create a future where freedom and opportunity are truly accessible to all. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #BlackExcellence #Diversity #Inclusion #Equality #BlackHistory #CelebrateDiversity #united #blackprofessionalsBRG #grantthornton
