How an exquisite supercar transforms into an LT (longtail) for better grip? Isnt't it the best you have seen so far? Read full article - in your language - at: https://lnkd.in/d77wDYGC McLaren has been synonymous with aerodynamic innovation and excellence since its very beginnings, with Bruce McLaren himself always determined to push for any advantage offered by new ways of managing airflow to balance lift and drag in the most efficient way possible. The 1967 championship-winning McLaren M6A Can-Am racecar employed ground effect aerodynamics with great success and while it was another decade before the technology came to Formula 1 – and the 1990s before the McLaren F1 showed how effective it could be in a road car – ground effect remains a significant advantage as part of an overall aerodynamic package for those car makers who can master it. #mclaren #w1 #granturismo #cuoresportivo

Looks like everyone missed a major release! Yesterday, McLaren unveiled its newest masterpiece – the McLaren W1, the true successor to the legendary F1 and P1 models. 🔥 Under the Hood: • A 4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 1260 hp • Hybrid system adding an extra 342 hp • 0 to 200 km/h in just 5.8 seconds • Top speed limited but still hitting 350 km/h! ⚙️ Inspired by Motorsport: The W1 is built around a super-strong, rigid monocoque made from composite materials, just like those used in Formula 1 and WEC. This helped achieve a weight of just 1399 kg. The seats are integrated with the monocoque, similar to Ferrari’s top-tier supercars. 🌬️ Aerodynamics: Ground-effect technology is used, along with active aero elements such as the front and rear wings, generating downforce. It's even said to have more advanced aerodynamics than the McLaren MCL38, as the Formula 1 team is limited by regulations, but W1 designers had full creative freedom. Power, speed, and cutting-edge technology – the McLaren W1 sets a new standard for supercars! 💥 #supercar #mclaren #w1 #v8 #hybrid #aerodynamics #groundeffect #racingtechnology #f1 #automotive #motorsport #innovation #performance #speed https://f-one.ca/f/10101

This is not the Scuderia Ferrari #SF24EVO but my interpretation of its evolution... I had thought about this evolution well before the presentation of the Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology #RB20 car from which it takes the #sharkinlet concept. The S-duct remains, but the front cooling duct is completely removed and brought exclusively to the upper part of the sidepod thanks to the #Coandăeffect produced by the leading edge of the pylon cover, mirrors and the other #microaerodynamic elements also present on the halo... it could be considered to create this air inlet on the back of the sidepods with a low-drag air inlet design, like #NACAduct This would allow the air flow to be extremely cleaned to close the ends of the bottom. The only aspect to check is what effect this repositioning of air capture has for #heatexchanger and some variation may cause the different positioning of the heat exchangers for balancing the loads of the aerodynamic map. THE RACERS, PART XII. Donohue's secret weapon for the 1973 Can-Am season? The magnificent long-tail Porsche 917/30 KL Turbo, which was powered by a turbocharged flat twelve that delivered between 1100 and 1500HP, depending on the boost setting (which could be adjusted from the cockpit). The monster machine bristled with Donohue's engineering genius, and it is still considered to be one of the greatest racing cars ever built. The artist and his art! Paul Rosche with the 6.1L V12 S70/2 that powers the Legendary McLaren F1. The S70/2 was a technical wonder and one of the greatest gifts to the automotive world. Helping propel the aforementioned F1 to a production top speed record of 240.1mph in 1998. How the S70/2 came to be, starts with two men working on separate projects, meeting for a common goal. After convincing Ron Dennis at McLaren to develop the F1, Gordon Murray went engine shopping. McLaren themselves didn't have the budget to develop a road-going engine to Murray's specifications in house as their money was wrapped up in Formula 1. So Murray first approached Honda. McLaren already had a contract with Honda for their Formula 1 cars, but McLaren/Murray were unable to reach an agreeable deal on development for the road car. So the next stop was BMW. And that is where magic struck. Murray went to BMW and approached Paul Rosche with blueprints of a V12 he wanted. Rosche was already developing a V12 for his M8 prototype project, that was in the vein of what Murray wanted. That was the novel S70. So Rosche got to work, resurrecting a monster that would find itself sitting in history pages as a King amongst engines. The S70/2 is an all-aluminum, 60 degree V12, displacing 6.1L with a 11:1 compression. It was a serious evolution of the M8 S70, featuring countless improvements from the bespoke forged pistons, to its dual VANOS (variable valve timing) system, all the way to its Sequential injection system and bespoke carbon fiber manifold. The engine produced 618hp and 479lb-ft of torque in its base road-going form, the engine that adorned the F1 in a gold foil lined engine bay. Changes were made for the motorsports side of things, with the GTR and GTR Longtail variants. A later iteration was made in '98 called the S70/3 for BMW's LM and LMR V12 prototype racers. #mclaren #f1 #bmw #v12 #paulrosche #performance #speed #germany 🇩🇪 #Anis_Maaouia
