ESA Business Incubation Centre Noordwijk’s Post

Congratulations to Johan Leijtens and the whole team from Lens R&D B.V. (#ESABICNoordwijk alumnus, celebrating 10 years since graduation) on the launch of its “𝐁𝐢𝐒𝐨𝐧𝟲𝟰-𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬” on board #Proba3 earlier this month! Discover more: ▶️ https://lnkd.in/eVm_CCh8 Proba-3 is a European Space Agency - ESA technology demonstration mission with twin platforms that will perform precise formation flying for the first time. The sensors from Lens R&D which are on board are used every orbit to recapture the formation. “This ESA qualified BiSon64-ET Sunsensor is radiation hardened and very suited for demanding space applications. The very wide temperature range and extended envelope environmental qualification makes it the sensor of choice for highly demanding missions like Proba-3," states Johan. 🚀 Discover more insights from Johan, both about the technology of the sensors and Lens R&D's time incubated at ESA Business Incubation Centre Noordwijk in the article on the SBIC website: https://lnkd.in/eU4xdyFU 📸 (for captions see article) Pic 1 credit: ISRO Pic 2 credit: Lens R&D Pic 3 credit: ESA – P. It has been a long story which would have never materialized without the support of ESA Business Incubation Centre Noordwijk,European Space Agency - ESA and NSO - Netherlands Space Office PLUS a lot of supporters (both mental, financial and physical). Last but not least thanks to all the knowledgeable people in our supply chain that contributed their part to the success by helping with the design solving the issues and are currently helping to scale production.
