Some of the best hardware engineers I’ve met have built incredible SimOps expertise—so much so that they become the only source of SimOps maturity in their company. That’s where things get tricky. 🔹 Over time, they transition from engineering into full-time SimOps. If that’s intentional, great. But what if it’s not? 🔹 The company becomes overly dependent on a single person. If they leave, so does the maturity they built. SimOps is a journey—it evolves from low to high maturity over time. But it can’t rest on the shoulders of just one person. Organizations need to treat SimOps as a practice, not as a single person's role. Spread the expertise. Build a system. Invest in automation.
