Last Friday, around 2 am, I envisioned hosting the largest startup conference in Boston. IDEA: Northeastern University's Venture Accelerator hosts the annual Pitch-A-Thon: The Beanpot of Ventures, where universities across the Greater Boston Area showcase the best late-stage startups founded by undergraduates. More than 400 students came out, but my goal is to reach over 1,000 attendees. I asked myself, is it possible? I've never stepped foot on the Boston campus, and here I am thinking of hosting a large-scale event. Reflecting on my time in Oakland, I realized I hosted a hackathon in less than four months with over 100 attendees, organized a lunar new year event in two months despite numerous obstacles and had over 400+ attendees, put together the first demo day with a cohort of 30 students pitching, and much more. Yes, it’s possible. I don’t care how dramatic it sounds-I will execute, and I will get it done. But I need YOUR HELP. Calling all students, leaders, and founders to connect and let's make this happen! Let's gather our resources, share our expertise, and make Pitch-A-Thon the biggest startup conference in Boston. Together, we can create an event that uplifts undergraduate founders and showcases their incredible potential.

Dear Founders 👋 I will be at OAU this week talking to students founders. We have seen several people build great companies & meet their cofounders straight out of college. Building & scaling a startup is more than just building an app or a website. Over the past 5 years building Nerdy Eye and now working on an A.I powered EdTech platform, I have come to realize this and it’s humbling. I will be sharing my brutal experience in the tech startup ecosystem with this student founders. If you know anyone at OAU, please share this & tag them 😳 If you see me, say Hi 👋 Help repost, like and comment for reach 🤩 ===== P.S: I'm Samuel Linus, sharing my journey as a founder, post about tech, startup and everything in between. I help idea-stage founders, design prototypes, build and launch their MVP. Feel free to connect and holla at me 🤓 #tech #startup #founder #dearFounder

Universities Behind Web3 Founders 🎓 In our #Web3 Startups Trend Report 2024, we analyzed the educational backgrounds of founders from projects that raised more than $1 million and uncovered some interesting statistics. More than a third graduated from top-500 universities (according to the QS World University Rankings 2024), with 19% being alumni of top-100 institutions. Education is undoubtedly important, and we agree with that. However, it’s not the only factor that matters when it comes to becoming a successful Web3 founder. 👉What’s even more crucial is what you do: the events you attend, the accelerators you join, and the connections you make. At XFounders, we create an educational environment where you meet experts from top-tier companies, learn from their experiences, and get traction and mentorship to advance your journey in Web3. As we’re preparing some exciting new opportunities for founders next year, read our 2024 report and follow us for updates! ✨ 👉 2024 Web3 Startup Trends:https://lnkd.in/e-Ccg2Sy

Did you know that 1 in 4 #startups fail because they lack the right team? Whether you're a student founder seeking the ideal team, or an industry expert looking to engage with future startups, VCi Lab is where we help bridge the gaps in the startup ecosystem. We empower student founders to connect, collaborate, and create! Our goal We are a non-profit student community that connects students with venture capital partners, turning startup ideas into reality and driving meaningful social impact. We create an environment where students can explore the exciting world of #innovation and venture capital, igniting their passion for #creativity. Our start VCi started when our president, Fei Lin Guo, set out to build an app for his startup idea but struggled to find the perfect co-founder with the right technical skills – a challenge many founders face. As humans, we all have our strengths and weaknesses. VCi aims to connect people with diverse talents, creating powerful partnerships that achieve the effect of 1+1>2. Our success We have been affiliated with UMSU - University of Melbourne Student Union since May 2024. Since then, VCi has successfully hosted various events, including our latest Meet Your Co-founder networking event, which drew over 80 passionate attendees. Visit us at https://linktr.ee/vcilabs or Instagram and follow our journey. Our next big event, Startup 101, which guides you through every step to turn your startup idea into a roaring reality, will take place in 2 weeks. We can't wait to share more exciting updates with you and see you there! #startup #VCiLab #innovation #team #UniMelb #venturecapital #studentfounders

PitchBook confirms what we knew all along - Berkeley rises to the top in places to build a startup. When I entered campus 5+ years ago, the startup scene was still in its infancy. "Where can we go for startup grants?" "Are there classes supporting entrepreneurship?" "Where can I go to get more involved?" (aside from the hackathons!) A few key institutional changes propelled us: 1. Establishment of a Business x Tech dual degree - the MET program (notable mention to Michael Grimes) 2. Incredible efforts from Rich Lyons, former Haas Dean and Berkeley's first "Chief Innovation Officer". PS - he's now Cal's Chancellor 🧸 3. Birth of accelerators and the like, of many homegrown (such as The House Fund 🚀, Berkeley SkyDeck, LAUNCH: The University of California's Startup Accelerator, Bow Capital, and more) 4. Incredible staff all around - my favorite were Rhonda Shrader and Ikhlaq Sidhu 5. Of course, incredible Cal alums such as Tony Xu (DoorDash), Ali Ghodsi (DataBricks), and several notable VCs giving back. There are many more I didn't mention. I believe this is just the beginning for Berkeley. Roll on you Bears!

🚀 Excited to Share My NYU Startup Bootcamp Journey 🎓 As I reflect on my incredible journey through the NYU Startup Accelerator Program, I feel a profound sense of accomplishment and gratitude. It’s been an exhilarating ride from concept to reality, and I'm excited to share that I've completed the NYU Startup Bootcamp! The bootcamp was more than just a learning experience; it was a transformational process that challenged and honed my entrepreneurial skills. The structured program, led by seasoned professionals and industry experts, provided me with invaluable insights into the startup ecosystem. But most importantly, I want to talk about UGuest, the project that accompanied me through this adventure. UGuest is not just a startup; it’s a vision to revolutionize the hospitality industry through cutting-edge technology and an unwavering commitment to customer service. Through the bootcamp, UGuest evolved from a nascent idea to a viable product ready to make its mark. We've worked on business models, market analysis, MVP development, and pitching to potential clients. The countless hours of mentoring, workshops, and peer collaborations have been instrumental in preparing UGuest for the real world. I’m proud to carry forward the knowledge and experience gained, and I’m eager to contribute to the vibrant startup community. I look forward to connecting with fellow entrepreneurs, mentors, and anyone interested in the intersection of technology and hospitality. Let’s connect and explore potential collaborations, insights, and opportunities that lie ahead. Here’s to innovation, perseverance, and the spirit of entrepreneurship! #StartupLife #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #NYUBootcamp #UGuest #TechStartup #HospitalityInnovation
