Sometimes you can't even begin to help someone in the way you want to because they are at a level 20 on a stress scale from 1 to 10. It just isn't possible until they get down to maybe an 8. I found this to be true in a few of my career coaching clients (back when I was dabbling). I thought mindset work would help but they were SO stressed out that it wasn't even an option yet. I had to listen and support and stay the course until they were in a better place to receive. When I sat down recently with Stella 🌟 Scott on my LIVE series "The Thirsty Professional," she presented a similar sentiment. Stella has 30 years of providing therapy under her belt, and fortunately she had a level of comfort in helping people with extreme trauma even in the early days of her practice. As she notes in this clip, sometimes her clients had gone through a lot of "coaching" but in truth, were more in need of a trained therapist. They needed to be un-coached and put back together. 🙋🏻♀️ Have you ever had a client who was so stressed out (or in such an extreme situation relative to your provided service) that you had to re-evaluate your course of action? How did you get to a place where you could then proceed with your normal coaching or guidance? 👉 Check out the full episode with Stella Scott via the link below, and don't forget to let us know what you think (and LIKE/SUBSCRIBE!). https://lnkd.in/eU-ZbUyg

That happens that some coaches try help when they need a therapist. A great coach can read the differents and re-evaluate their coaching.

I’ve never been in this position but can wholly understand the sentiments Beth. Do you think or find there is a line where you have to say this is not the right time for them relative to the service your providing?
