Want a dose of positive energy? 🔋 Buckle up for a story that proves school is not just about textbooks and tests—it’s about those transformative moments that spark our potential. Think back to your own school days and the experiences that shaped your journey. ✨ For some talented students at One Tree Hill College, that defining moment came when they transformed an ex-Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities house into a safe, warm, and dry home for a lucky Kiwi family. 🏠 In the process, they gained invaluable construction skills that will serve them for a lifetime. 👷♀️👷♂️ Originally built in the 1970s, the house was destined for demolition. But in May last year, it was moved from Māngere East to the school grounds for just $1. Fast-forward to today, and the Level 3 BCITO Trade Academy students have restored it to a higher Homestar rating than most new builds in New Zealand. 🌱 How impressive! The house, which will be auctioned with a starting bid of $200,000, even comes with a Basis smart panel ⚡(installed by Basis Partner Electrician, Jacob Moselen-Sloog).
