Last week I attended the Retail Council of Canada's Retail Sustainability Conference bringing together many industry leaders to explore actionable paths toward circularity. I was inspired by the passion of each speaker highlighting the momentum in this area. I wanted to share with you the key themes that resonated for me throughout the day: 1) No company can tackle the challenge alone; unconventional collaboration & partnership is needed. 2) Progress vs. Perfection; it is a journey not a sprint. 3) Authenticity & Transparency wins the consumer. 4) Harmonization is a huge enabler; loud call to accelerate. 5) Sustainability is not one person’s job; it is a mindset to be woven into an organization’s DNA. At Haleon, ensuring that we operate with sustainability top-of-mind is at the heart of our mission to deliver better everyday health with humanity. I was proud to attend the conference with our Canadian Sustainability Lead Clara Battiston and our Local Sustainability Steerco. This dedicated group is driving sustainability efforts across our organization, ensuring it’s embedded at every level. The call to action is clear – there’s a lot more to do, and with these valuable insights, I know our collective efforts will make a real difference.
