Global Services Watermelon effect: When working with providers (#outsourcing, #offshoring, #nearshoring) or through captive global capability centers, does your dashboard show “green” on KPIs and SLAs, while underlying results are “red,” with challenges that erode value and impact? Yes, I’ve experienced this. No, we have it all together. I’m not sure but curious to learn more. I would be eager to learn more from your experiences and how you remediate these issues.  What governance frameworks you deploy, and which performance monitoring responsibilities are assigned to client vs. provider.  Would you allow me 30 minutes of your time as I prepare a third-party governance white paper through lens of experienced practitioners?  I can be reached at [email protected] or via LinkedIn.

Ashish M., I have experienced the Watermelon effect while working with my Clients within the context of Business Performance & Risk Management. The devil is in the details, underlying metrics, and the commentary in the form of footnotes and fine print that tells the real story. I'll be happy to review your Whitepaper and offer my comments.

Great topic, Ashish! I have definitely encountered the ‘watermelon effect’ with offshoring partners, KPIs look green, but issues are often hidden beneath the surface.
