NEW DELHI: Voting commenced on Wednesday for bypolls in 15 assembly seats across Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Kerala, and Uttarakhand, with results scheduled to be announced on November 23. However, these bypolls are not expected to directly impact the composition of the respective legislative assemblies. In Uttar Pradesh, polling is taking place in Katehari, Karhal, Meerapur, Ghaziabad, Majhawan, Sisamau, Khair, Phulpur, and Kundarki, with 90 candidates contesting. Ghaziabad has the highest number of candidates at 14. The bypolls mark the first electoral challenge for both the INDIA bloc and the NDA in the state following the Lok Sabha elections. In the 2022 assembly elections, these seats were divided between the Samajwadi Party (SP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and BJP ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). Punjab is seeing bypolls in Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal (SC), and Barnala. These bypolls were necessitated after the MLAs from these constituencies were elected to the Lok Sabha. Of the four seats, three were previously held by the Congress, while the Barnala seat belonged to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Forty-five candidates, including three women, are vying for these seats, with key contestants such as former Punjab finance minister and BJP nominee Manpreet Singh Badal, Congress's Amrita Warring, and AAP's Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon in the fray. https://lnkd.in/guiuftXt

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 To form a government in India, a party or coalition must secure a simple majority in the Lok Sabha, which means winning at least 272 out of 543 seats. Achieving this majority allows the elected representatives to choose the Prime Minister and establish a stable governing administration. PM Modi's intense campaign appears to have backfired as results came in on June 4. It's the first time since 2014 that the BJP hasn't won a majority on its own. With the BJP's unexpected decrease in support, the Opposition INDIA bloc sees it as a victory In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP faced a significant challenge from the INDIA bloc, led by the Samajwadi Party, which won 37 seats. The Samajwadi Party reduced the BJP's count to 35 from 62 seats in 2019. The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) secured 29 seats, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) secured 22 seats, and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) secured 16 seats, according to the Election Commission of India. Here's the full list of how political parties performed in the Lok Sabha polls. BJP - 240 Congress - 99 Samajwadi Party - 37 Trinamool Congress - 29 DMK - 22 TDP - 16 JD(U) - 12 Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackrey) - 9 NCP (Sharad Pawar) 7, leading in 1 Shiv Sena - 7 Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) - 5 YSRCP - 4 RJD - 4 CPI(M) - 4 Indian Union Muslim League - 3 AAP - 3 Jharkhand Mukti Morcha - 3 Janasena Party - 2 CPI(ML)(L) - 2 JD(S) - 2 Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi - 2 CPI - 2 RLD - 2 National Conference - 2 United People's Party, Liberal - 1 Asom Gana Parishad - 1 Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) - 1 Kerala Congress - 1 Revolutionary Socialist Party - 1 NCP - 1 Voice of the People Party - 1 Zoram People's Movement - 1 Shiromani Akali Dal - 1 Rashtriya Loktantrik Party - 1 Bharat Adivasi Party - 1 Sikkim Krantikari Morcha - 1 Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam - 1 Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) - 1 Apna Dal (Soneylal) - 1 AJSU Party - 1 AIMIM - 1 Independent - 7

The BJP is aiming for a third consecutive clean sweep of all 26 seats in Gujarat during the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, while the Congress, aligning with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is striving to challenge the BJP's dominance. The BJP is expressing confidence in an easy victory and has mobilized booth committee members for door-to-door outreach and divided the constituencies into eight clusters for better coordination. The Congress-AAP alliance aims to disrupt the BJP's dominance, with AAP contesting in Bharuch and Bhavnagar seats, while Congress contests the remaining 24. However, given the BJP's strong support base and exponential rise in vote share over the past 15 years, it remains to be seen if this alignment can dent the BJP's stronghold. #AsiaOperations #PoliticsandElections #India Follow us for daily updates on risk and operations in Asia! https://lnkd.in/gr56FeQJ

New Delhi. BJP, which had set a target of winning 370 Lok Sabha seats for the party and 400 plus for NDA, got a big shock in this election. Both these targets were set by PM Narendra Modi himself, but BJP got only 240 seats. Due to this, BJP is facing sarcasm from its supporters on social media and from its opposition parties in politics. In 2014 and 2019, BJP had the pride of winning majority by winning 272 Lok Sabha seats on its own, but this time it could not even get a majority and is going to run the government with the support of TDP and JDU. BJP leadership has taken this very seriously and every Lok Sabha seat is being assessed, where the party’s candidate contested the Lok Sabha elections. In fact, this time BJP not only lost on many seats, but the votes of its important candidates also decreased. PM Narendra Modi himself won by 1.50 lakh votes. Whereas, in 2019 he won the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat by 5 lakh votes. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also won by less votes than in 2019 from Lucknow, which has always been a stronghold of BJP. Losing the seats of Ayodhya and Amethi, which have Ram Mandir, is being said to be a cause of panic in BJP. Similarly, there are many seats where BJP could win by only 500 or 1000 votes. Apart from this, the way BJP has been continuously winning bumper elections in UP since 2017, the defeat received from Samajwadi Party there has also been taken seriously by the party leadership. BJP is also brainstorming on the setbacks in Maharashtra, Bengal and Bihar. According to sources, after assessing the win and loss on all seats, the BJP leadership is going to take tough decisions. In tough decisions, BJP can also take action against responsible leaders. In such a situation, in the upcoming assembly elections, tickets of many leaders can also be cut. Leaders can also get show cause notices. Many such videos are also coming out on social media, in which BJP leaders are allegedly seen creating an atmosphere against their own candidate. The BJP leadership is keeping all these in mind in its assessment. Overall, the BJP leadership is now preparing how the party can be made the leader once again.
BJP: After the setback in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP leadership is now examining each seat, there is a possibility of action against many leaders!, Many BJP leaders could get punished for dismal performance of the party in Lok Sabha election 2024

NDA to get more powerful by getting Akali Dal and MNS into its fold? Mahayuti Govt Looking For a Fourth Partner - Raj Thackeray in Maharashtra Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls? Is the BJP further pushing to strengthen its NDA bloc by reaching out to Akali Dal and MNS? The Bharatiya Janata Party-led #Alliance called Mahayuti in Maharashtra which consists of BJP, NCP (Ajit Pawar Faction) and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde Faction), despite having strong allies like the Shiv Sena and NCP, is seeking support from smaller regional parties such as the #Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) led by Raj Thackeray. Even before the NCP's entry led by Ajit Pawar, the Mahayuti government was not considered weak, but their entry has strengthened the government in terms of numbers. Now, the NCP and Ajit Pawar are #responsible for capturing the Western Maharashtra belt and penetrating rural Maharashtra, where the BJP is lacking. However, there are rumors that the BJP is considering bringing in Raj Thackeray and his party, which has led to #speculation that a new plan is in the works. Raj Thackery and his party have been advocating for the cause of 'Marathi Manus' (son of the soil) since the inception of MNS. The people of Maharashtra responded well to MNS in the beginning, with 11 MNS MLAs being elected in the 2009 state assembly election. However, the party's performance in the 2014 and 2019 Maharashtra #assembly polls could have been more impressive, as MNS secured only one MLA - getting elected. Also, the Leaders have confirmed that talks of a BJP-SAD re-alliance in Punjab are underway. A decision on the matter will be made after the SAD core #committee meeting on March 22. The Lok Sabha elections for the 13 seats in Punjab are scheduled to be held on June 1. Thus, the political landscape in Punjab is heating up again as discussions of a possible re-alliance between the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha #elections have resurfaced. The media was informed by SS Channy, a senior BJP leader and party spokesperson, that there are ongoing #discussions between the two parties in Punjab. INDIA LOK SABHA ELECTION 2024 7TH PHASE VOTING BEGINS: The much-awaited seventh and final voting phase for 57 #ParliamentaryConstituencies in 8 states in #india began this morning at 7 AM. In the seventh phase, the #Indian states of #Bihar, #Chandigarh, #HimachalPradesh, #Jharkhand, #Odisha, #Punjab, #UttarPradesh, and #WestBengal people are to perform their democratic duty by way of votes on Saturday, June 1. The final phase of voting for Fifty-seven seats across seven states and the Union territory of Chandigarh is important because in #Varanasi PM Modi is contesting, from where Mr #NarendraModi is seeking a third consecutive term. The counting will be done on 4, June 2024. In India, the legislature is called Parliament, consisting of the President and two Houses, known as the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) and the House of the People (Lok Sabha). As per India's constitution, each House has to meet within six months of its previous sitting. General elections in India were held from 19 April 2024 to 1 June 2024 to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The elections were held in seven phases and the last 7th phase was held on 1, June 2024. There are 543 Parliamentary Constituency seats in #India, each of which elects one member. The members of the #LokSabha are elected directly by the eligible voter, unlike the #Rajsabhamembers. The 18th Lok Sabha elections were held from 19 April 2024 to 1 June to elect 543 members to the Lower House. To form a government, a political party or coalition / its alliance needs to secure a majority of at least 50%, which is 272 seats out of the total seats in the #LokSabha. This ensures that they have enough support to pass legislation and govern effectively. Image Tnk. IT

Image Source : INSTA/BHOJPURIYASAMAJ Will Pawan Singh’s power work? Lok Sabha elections 2024 have reached their final stage. Voting for the seventh phase of elections will be held on June 1, 2024. Voting is also going to be held on 8 seats of Bihar in this phase. The most talked about seat among these 8 seats remains Karakat Lok Sabha constituency. Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh, who rebelled from BJP, is contesting as an independent on this seat. Upendra Kushwaha of NDA alliance and Rajaram Kushwaha of INDI Alliance are contesting from Karakat seat. But Pawan Singh has made this contest triangular by entering the fray. <!-- /8323530/Khabar_Desktop_VDO_1X1 --> What is the equation of Karakat seat? There are a good number of Kushwaha, Yadav and Rajput voters in Karakat Lok Sabha seat. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Upendra Kushwaha won the Karakat seat. He got 3,38,892 votes. At the same time, Upendra Kushwaha lost the 2019 election but even then he got 3,13,866 votes. In such a situation, one thing that is visible is that Upendra Kushwaha has some fixed voters of his own. On the other hand, INDI Alliance candidate Rajaram Kushwaha also comes from Upendra’s community. In such a situation, votes can also be divided between the two. Earlier it was believed that Upendra Kushwaha would easily win this seat but Pawan Singh has made this election interesting. What has been the condition of Bhojpuri stars in the Lok Sabha elections? Talking about the Lok Sabha elections, three big stars of Bhojpuri cinema Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan and Dinesh Lal Yadav alias Nirahua are currently MPs from BJP. However, all of them had to face defeat in their first election. Manoj Tiwari contested against Yogi Adityanath from Gorakhpur on SP ticket in 2009 but lost. After this, he became MP from North East Delhi on BJP ticket in 2014 and 2019. Ravi Kishan contested from Jaunpur on Congress ticket in 2014 but lost. He won from Gorakhpur on BJP ticket in 2019. At the same time, Nirahua contested from Azamgarh in 2019 on BJP ticket but lost. After this, he became MP by winning the 2022 by-election. How difficult is Pawan Singh’s path? Pawan Singh has no answer in terms of popularity and crowd gathering. He has been campaigning vigorously in Karakat for the past several days. It is also worth seeing that apart from Kushwaha votes, Yadav, Rajput, Brahmin, Vaishya and Bhumihar votes are also in large numbers in Karakat. Another Bhojpuri star Khesari Lal Yadav and many other stars are also holding rallies in support of Pawan Singh. In such a situation, if Pawan Singh makes a dent in the Yadav voters of RJD and the core voters of NDA and brings them to his side, he can do a miracle on this seat. Whether Pawan Singh is able to break this trend of Bhojpuri stars losing in the first Lok Sabha elections or not will be known on June 4. But it has become clear that Karakat has become the most interesting seat
