Helping to Develop Your Talent, One Data Point at a Time

Okay, I'm starting a new routine. I call it "One Coffee, One Assist". Don't worry; I'll continue wordsmithing the name. 😁 Before I dive into my to-do list, emails, and meetings, I start every morning with one simple habit: one assist. It could be: 🔹 Sharing an article I know will make someone’s day easier or make them smile 🔹 Answering a question in Slack before someone has to ask twice 🔹 Offering a quick review or a piece of advice that moves a project forward 🔹 Giving a well-deserved shoutout—like congratulating a colleague on a work anniversary or celebrating a big accomplishment It takes five minutes. It costs nothing. But it always makes a difference. And sometimes, that small act turns into a bigger conversation, a better idea, or even a breakthrough for someone. Because leadership isn’t about big speeches or fancy titles—it’s about showing up, even in the smallest ways. What’s your first move of the day? Drop it in the comments—I might steal it for tomorrow’s “one assist”!

This is such a great habit! Before diving into the day, my first move is a short breathing exercise and reflection. Just a few deep breaths and a moment to center myself—thinking about how I want to show up, who I can support, and what impact I want to make. It helps me start with clarity and intention, making every interaction more meaningful. Thank you for sharing this concept!
