🌍 Happy Earth Day from the SunCast Team! 🌞 Did you know? The first Earth Day celebration took place on April 22, 1970, sparking the modern environmental movement. Millions of people participated in the first Earth Day, shutting down Manhattan's Fifth Avenue to march and pick up trash. By 1990, this movement had gone global. 200 million people across 141 countries marched and cleaned their cities to promote ecological action! 🌱 But it didn't stop there. In 2020, more than one billion people worldwide participated in Earth Day actions. It's easy to think that we're fighting a losing battle against fossil fuel companies. But every time you feel alone in that fight, remember that more than one billion people stand with you. In fifty years, the Earth Day movement went from a few million people to a billion. It's a reminder that if we keep showing up, the movements we believe in will grow! Today, let's commit to continuing to show up until we build the world we want.
