Senior Advisor at Resolve to Save Lives. Public Health Scientist. Returned Peace Corps Volunteer.

Infectious disease outbreaks in the United States are detected and responded to by local, tribal, territorial, and state health departments.  The 7-1-7 target provides a simple benchmark and suite of assessment tools for health departments to transparently measure and improve their performance during both routine and high-risk outbreaks and has been applied to hundreds of outbreak events nationwide. According to our national public health leaders 7-1-7 has the potential to become a common language and standard for outbreak investigators, health emergency responders, elected leaders and policy makers at all levels of our health system. In my role as Senior Technical Advisor at Resolve To Save Lives I have the privilege to collaborate with health departments, federal agencies, national coalitions, and world-renowned scientists to design and test 7-1-7 implementation strategies and chart the path forward for the national adoption of the 7-1-7 target throughout the United States. I appreciate my public health colleagues nationwide as well as my 7-1-7 Alliance teammates for sharing this enduring commitment to contain outbreaks, prevent epidemics, and save lives. Dear Andrew, it is a great opportunity to test the tool further, though it has been proven so in our situations too. Conga for the containment of the out break!
