In 2018, five space professionals and I met together in Washington DC with a bold vision: to bring data centers to the moon for off-Earth storage and transmission. That vision has grown into reality, thanks to the brilliant minds who joined the Lonestar Data Holdings Inc. team along the way. I had the incredible privilege of witnessing history in the making at Kennedy Space Center. Lonestar Data Holdings, a company where I proudly serve on the Board of Advisors, successfully launched the first-ever data center (named Freedom) towards the moon aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 7:17pm EST. If all goes as planned, after a three-day journey and one day in lunar orbit, it will make its historic landing on the moon aboard the Intuitive Machines lunar lander. While we still have a few days before we can declare total success, this first step is monumental. The Lonestar team is made up of some of the most intelligent, ambitious, and forward-thinking minds in the world. I’m honored to be part of this groundbreaking mission. Godspeed, Lonestar — the best is yet to come! https://lnkd.in/gZ6Jvtnj Chris Stott Nicole Stott Charlie Duke Michael Potter Del Smith Carol S. Goldstein
