📣 Exciting Announcement 📣 I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been recognized as one of the Royal Society of Edinburgh’s autumn 2024 research awardees who received over £686,500 of funding ! 🎉 What started as my own curiosity and search to understand my connection in Scotland, lead to a funded Public Engagement project to this incredible grant support from the RSE. I’m incredibly grateful to receive my first external research grant in Scotland for my project titled: “Connecting the dots: The transformative potential of African-Caribbean-Scottish heritage tourism." This opportunity allows me to explore the deep and transformative connections between heritage, identity, and tourism, with a focus on shared African-Caribbean-Scottish heritage, history, culture, people and place. I can’t wait to contribute to the growing body of work that enriches Scottish heritage and the diverse cultures that call it home. Thank you to the Royal Society of Edinburgh for seeing the importance of supporting research on this topic, and of course, to #EdNapier for always fostering an environment of research innovation and creativity.
